Help needed: OBD port location in Civic 2000

Hi Everyone,
I am trying to locate the ODB-2 port in a standard local (Pakistani) market Honda Civic 2000 model with a standard D16 engine.
I have searched in various books and manuals and other forums also but have not found where the OBD port is located in this car.
I would greatly appreciate if someone can provide some guidelines to the location of the OBD port and also what type of connector is uses.
According to the service manual, it should be standard D shell connector and should be either in the left kick panel (where the PCM is located) or on the right side of the fuse box. I checked everywhere but couldnt find it :s

The OBD port is a 16-pin green rubber connector located under the left passenger kick panel, just above the PCM and can be accesed by removing the only screw in the kick panel.

Hi again,
crazywheelz thanks a bunch for your feedback but I am still unable to find the connector.
I removed the kickpanel and also took out the PCM unit and looked around but I was not able to find the connector. Following is the picture of the only connector that I found there.

The green rubber part is just a terminating end for 2 connectors which are not connected. I am talking about the green part in the following picture.

I have an OBD-2 scan tool which has a standard interface and I have used it before on various cars (e-class, GMC). The following picture can clarify the connector it has:

Any help in this regard from crazywheelz or other experts shall be highly appreciated. Moreover pics would also be of great help. Thanks.

sorry i told you about the service check connector (SCS) which is 2p, the 16p Data link connector (DLC) for the OBD 2 is under the driver,s side dash, you,ll have to remove the panel below the steering wheel. here is a page from a left hand drive civic,s manual, check out the last two diagrams

Hi again crazywheels,
I checked the location mentioned in the snaps you posted. I opened the cover under the steering and dashboard and looked around everywhere in that area. Also around the fusebox area but still couldnt manage to find it.
The service manuals that I have all of them also show the port should be on the left side of the fusebox but seems like these local market models have it hidden elsewhere maybe.
Would appreciate if someone can point me in the right direction. Thanks.

Well, now there are two possibilities
1)some local mechanic or the previous owner removed the port
2)the local model does not have OBD2, maybe its OBD1 because the manual also shows airbags and abs in the 96 model which are not there.
The best idea would be to drop by at honda and ask them about the connector location, they,ll know it for sure.

i think obd2 is not available in local pk model

The port is some older form of OBD...it does not have the modern day OBDII diagnostics port..

is it OBD - 1 (MINUS) ?? LOL!!!

and it doesnot have any light on the ecu...bcoz in b16 series engine's ecu has some lights to judge out the fault... but it doesnot hv any single light.. but i heard tht it is checked by short green wire to any other wire... but i dont know.... i changed all of the sensors of my civic.. but the engine light is still coming after 2000 rpm crossed.... after light on the pickup goes down...

I think its true, our local model probably doesnt have OBD-2 standard port. Maybe it has some other Honda Atlas specific diagnostics port so that you have to go to Honda workshops everytime.

@farazgenius: Do you have CNG installed in your car?? I had the same problem just recently with my car also. I came back to Pak for a short vacation and started my car after 6-7 months. I took it for service and had the engine bay washed thoroughly and after that the engine check light was coming on after 2500 rpm. The problem was my emulator and advancer was out of snyc. with the car's pcm. I would suggest that you have your emulator and advancer retuned and mapped again (both frequency and emf mapping) to sync. with the car's electronics.
Also why did you change all the sensors??? Did you have the crank position sensor checked?? Tell me details about your CNG kit status and I might be able to help you with the problem.

ohh God... i searched out tht diagnostic port and short these two wires... thn switch on the ignition.. thn my check light going to blink... i checked out tht the number is 17... i search on http://hondahookup.com... 17 means VSS (Vehicle speed sensor) or knock sensor... i chnged it... and check light gonna off man:d:d:d...... hehehehe... m very happy... my car running well... i forget tht light forever... but really i waste soo much time for diagnose this error... bocz i searched many times all over near the ecu but i didnt find tht port..... magr meri kismat.... main leth gya pura ulta hoke.. us connector ko dhundne k liye... and thn i searched it out...

thanks too much for ur information... also searched out tht error with my emulator... my emulator wire was loose... i pull out the connector... and push it again in the socket... my 2500 rpm problem also resolved... thanks too much for ur kind information...

dear i diagnose again about any other error.. soo its givig me error no "10 , 14 & 21 "

which means

10 = Intake Air Temperature (IAT Sensor)
14 = Idle Air Control (IAC Valve)
21 = VTEC Solenoid Valve

but my engine check light does not blow...
pls tell me what should i do for tht.. my ecu giving these 3 more errors...
