I was driving along with my cousin in Rawalpindi when he spotted the car at a show room. We stopped to have a look & were amazed at the find. A 1977 Mazda 929 with a super clean 1JZGE swap! From the info I acquired, the car was restomodded by a guy from Mirpur who spent a bunch on the car but had to go abroad. His family got tired of the car & decided to sell it. The car needs work on it's interior & the exterior needs a new lick of paint to freshen it up, but it runs perfectly!

Edit: Will add better pics soon

Yeah, sort of.. The car already has most of its trim intact, but the paint is sun damaged. I will most likely get her reshowered, change the rims & tyres from the 17" low profiles it currently has, to 16" deep dish rims with a bit more meatier tyres. The car has a banging sound system already, with two 4ch amps, 2 subwoofers & 4 speakers; what it needs is a new head unit; I am thinking android. The interior is where it needs most work, like new upholstery, roof liner etc.

Edit: Oh, & I am thinking of a manual transmission swap

Hahah thanks, & yup, it would be a totally different beast with a manual

Wow.....cool ride you snapped.

congrats.

If u are planning to upgrade the upholstery, try sticking to as close as original because the poshish walas commit that it will look good once done, but practically it becomes pathetic and ruins all the look.

post some pics of the interior.
Lower the car from the back.
install rubber strips on the back & front bumper.
put some better sized rims with meaty tires. the rear tires should be little bit meaty than the front ones.
dont bother getting it painted if there is no visible rust or any damage.

@afarooqi

Thanks! & Yeah, the plan for the upholstery is to keep it simple & elegant - hate the flamboyant designs of our "poshish walas" anyways . I'll post pics of the interior later today & yeah, the plan is to go for thicker tyres. The ride hide in the back is due to the stiff leaf springs, but I am a bit hesitant to touch it atm as the front back setup is pretty balanced & the car straightens up as soon as you push hard on the accelerator. I will look into softening it a bit but that might cause it to lean back upon acceleration. Meatier wheels on the back might help make that profile look better.
As far as the paint is concerned, it has a good few scratches & a couple small patches where the rust has began to emerge. It would be more convenient to respray the whole thing rather than trying to colour match & fix in segments.

Whenever u plan to repaint......find a good dentar who can take out the chrome work and put it back the same way without damaging it.

Sad!

These cars were not made for 6 cylinder engines,

And the dashboard looks extremely sad :disappointed:..

Any latest updates bro?
How’s your project going?
Try to source the original meter of 929 & get it fixed or you can find the entire dashboard as well
The Toyota meter is killing the interior looks
