Secondly, give asearch on net you'll find a lot of designs, the major issues will be front suspensin and steering geometry and rear independent movement of wheels on turns which is done through a crown gear assembly ... rest all is money, welding and assembling

Guys.. need your help in finding tyres for my under construction Go Kart..

I have not been able to find the specific tyres required for Go Karts.. So anyone have any idea where can i find them in Lahore..??

I have already made the chesis of it... i had some designs of Go Karts, selected one out of those and now the chesis is completed..

i can only go ahead with the rest when i find the right tyres for it... i cant find those specific tyres for the go kart...

What material are you using for the frame/chassis? The dia and the wall thickness etc... Also what kind of welding did you do? Stick, Mig, Tig or good old gas brazing? Just curious...

There are several ways of going about it. If you are in Karachi, try the second hand shops around Akbar Market / Ranchore Lines. I did one long time ago (1980's) the first set of tires were imported from the states. Actually I copied a kit go-kart to be frank with some mods of my own.

Later, I got used Landing Tires of Cessna from Rawalpindi Flying Club where by elder brother was a student pilot then. Another way would be to use Vespa or wheel barrow tires and altering the hub to your needs. Would look a bit hidious but, will offer better clearance off the road. The drive shaft in the master drawing is actually the diffrential, it should not be one solid bar rather two of them overlapped with one directly connected to the sproket on the centrifugal clutch box, if you choose to run one straight shaft, you will find it very difficult to turn. For bearing holders, engine mountings etc you must use imported nuts and bolts or else your would ride less and wrench more.
Also, would be useful if you could improve the electric weld. Should have used angle iron or tubes where engine and bearings are to be mounted.

I hope u used mild steel not high carbon steel. What Diameter did u use?? what kind of welds??

the tires... I would recommend not using go kart tires. Go kart tires wear out quick and they require their own hub, not just any hub. What kind of axle are you using?? How much does the chassis weigh??

as you are still building the kart, u might want to use rickshaw tires or whatever is locally available. I think go kart tires should be available by now, although I havent seen any... theres a go kart track in Karachi where u could ask..

I have been on a hunt for necessary parts for my Go Kart project..

after searching a number of places i have finally found the right stuff for this project to go ahead.. BILAL GANJ came to my rescue...

Most importantly i have managed to find the right tyres aswell...

Front/steering assembly..
Rear Axel..
Break system..
Engine.. 110cc automatic transmission
Break cyclender..
Drive Chain..
Silencer..

all these items are now available and ready to be put together on the chesis.. i am very hopeful that by the end of Jan. i will be able to finish the most of this Kart..

some pictures me and my good friend took after gathering all the parts to be used and put them together on the chesis to get the feel of this baby..

@jeez wats ur progress id also started this project had bult exactly da same frame, had gotten the tire rod nd alland the wheels were on but then i got stuck with the steering system and so left the project, also bcuz of shortage of time
plz help me with the steering system!!

steering system is a bit tough but if you actually look at steering designs of basic go carts and cars it should be no problem..

sorry guys.. could not update all of you earlier...

the project is now very much close to completion only a few things left now like seat fixture, fiber body around the chassis n etc... the rest is done..
