Free flow exhaust and resonator, what does it mean

hey guys, can n e any of u giv me the concept or full details and definition of a "free flow" exhaust, n basically wat it is??? cuz ive never cum to know wat its suppose to mean n how is it better than a normal after market exhaust

and about the resonator, where is this resonator located? r there n e damages cuased by removing it? and wat basically happens by taking the resonator off? such as does the performance gets better, voice gets louder/better?

plz fiv FULL details of both these things

hi dude... free flow exhaust means that there is only ur exhaust in whole system..means there is no DHOLKI fitted in the pipe n the flow is free.... from engine to the exhaust there is only one pipe....it depend on u whether u use genuine pipe or bigger one... but it definitely increase cars performance.....pick...WAQAS MANGI

but wat do u mean by DHOLKI???? so meaning i put a new exhaust, new down pipe so automatically my exhaust becomes free flow? so meaning that the exhaust doesnt come made as free flow from the company, u make it free flow urslef? n wat bout this resonator

I think what he meant was no catalyst converter and no muffler makes free flow.

normal car exhaust system got 2 silencers...one at back and other below front seats.....so this is the normal setup...in free flow exhaust....they are removed and on rear end..just put a big aftermarket muffler for some blasting sound outup.......this also reduce back pressure means engine gets it exhaust quicker than before means increase in pickup but it robs your low end torque...
thats what free flow exhaust means....no restrictions...just a free flow exhaust from engine......genuine company silencers are made to restrict the engine exhaust thus to creating the soundless exhaust system,low end torque and better fuel milage......

in the sence of driving....it will decrease......softer throttle.....more push..more fuel...
in the sence of engine back pressure...yeah...it release load from engine.....bcz more back pressure certainly robs out power....i agreed...
but in driving habbit...person should lose milage definately....

bro this way anything you do to your exhuast for it to FLOW more FREELY, its mainly for off road use like no cats., mufflers....that what it is not the .....the others but mostly its a free flowing cat. is what ppl put on

so basicallyt wat u mean is that if i take my exhausts resonator off then the voice wud get louder n better? so over all is it better to take the resonator off to convert the exhaust into free flow or is it better to keep it as it is?? basically i jus want my civic to be really really loud and really really sounding good, which i can easily get out of the muffler, full new down pipe, headers, and new air intake...

yeah.......back pressure really maintain low end torque...thats why its recommended as Stock setup.........and clearing back pressure means all over HPs.....and when you try to get Hps....sir don't think of milage...it was made history.....on full throttle...from where you get milage...but when you drive under 3-4K rom range..you can't get that much torque but i think milage can be better....but still i am not 99% sure...reason...i won't try that

meet me up , i'll show you how loud a free flow exhaust is ,.
and it does not sound good..

or you can just remove all the pipes and have a SUPER FREE FLOW exhaust like sohaib has done in lahore with his gti

no man, i like loud sounding civics, its my taste, can u giv me an example of a free flow exhaust?? does it cum ready made from the company n differ from normal aftermarket exhausts? or it was a normal aftermarket exhaust and u simply remove something from the exhaust to make it free flow?
