Family Trip to Shogran - Need advice on hotels

Hi Pakwheelers,

I'm planning a trip with the family (including a 2 year old) to Shogran in mid-June (before Ramzan). Need some advice on:

1) Which hotel options should I consider, given that I will be with family so comfort and cleanliness are important. It will also be good to have hot water for the kid.

2) Is it better to make hotel reservation in advance? Or should I try to get a bargain by negotiating once I get to Shogran? I am tempted to do the latter (hotels seem quite expensive going by their rack rates on the internet), but I fear that rooms will be booked once I reach Shogran due to peak season.

For Shogran, Pine Park is the top choice, although it will be a bit expensive in June but still it is better then others.
If you go for pine park ask them to give you room on upper floor in deluxe.
Warm water will be available in morning only in every hotel.
Better to bargain at the spot it will give you discount.
Rooms will be available in June.

I don't think before ramazan it is going to be peak season but after eid it will be.

If you go on friday, saturday or sunday, it will be a bit expensive. Second choice may be Afaq hotel. Do enjoy Sajji at punjab hotel in the evening.

Asa. I stayed at "Shogran hotel shogran" on 3rd June night & it costed Rs.1500/night. It can be approached by going a bit down from governor house. Bargaining done at spot. It started from Rs. 2500 & finalized at 1500. According to local people there, it is currently off season. Season will be on from this weekend most probably & remain on till Ramadan. In Ramadan, it'll be low & from eid day till August will be peak season again. Warm water is usually available from 0700-1000 hrs in almost all the hotels. However, you can demand some warm water specifically for your kid in off times too by requesting hotel representative. Keep flask or thermos etc with you to store warm water for hours.

Last year i stayed in lalazar hotel with my family and found it very good, when pine park was offering me single room in 6000 lalazar offered me quite good room in 1500
It was august but because of imaran khan dharna and shortage of patrol, not much ppl were there
