mehran is suzuki for which parts are available easily and at very cheap rates even used availability is through the roof , and also Mehran you GET ARE BRAND NEW CARS !! Old cars are bound to have problems due to daily wear and tear and affording one and availing parts for any Mitsubishi is a big problem rest aside expensive.

i don't understand why people compare cultus , coures altos while selling 10+ year old cars driven in Pakistan already.

there is simply no comparison for a new car with anything driven on Pakistani roads. i would take exception if they are fresh imports or recondition than only cars which are actually brought in volume and will have parts availability.

No offence dude but what are you smoking? Lancer 97 in immaculate condition should not cost anything less than 600k. For 350k, you are better off hunting a Daewoo Racer - that too in pretty shoddy condition.

Lancer parts not available? I beg to differ sir. I have always owned one and never had any issue with parts. In fact, when I buy a Lancer part, I am always sure its original - unlike my worst experience with Suzukis, yes parts are available easily but they are of zillion qualities. Indeed you can buy a "new" tin crap Mehran for 600k but is that being realistic? Old cars do need care but buying a new (Pakistani Suzuki) does not provide any assurance of trouble free motoring either. So you are better off driving with comfort (AC, leg space, boot, fully powered etc etc) then being pulled on a donkey cart for several years - just for the sake of better resale. Trust me, I was always able to find a good home for my (apparently) out of market cars whenever I decided to part with them. Its not about Mitsubishi but the mindset, I am glad it's changing as people have started to understand the value offered by once spurned vehicles. No wonder they are paying 800k plus for a Daihatsu Mira and about the same for Toyota Passo simply because they want value for money - something Suzuki Mehran, Bolan, Kaghan Naran etc fail to offer.

Aoa all!i totally agree with what @razaksyed said,having kept a lancer myself,i consider the spare part problem nothing but a myth...every single part is readily available in the used part market and that too at a fair price.yes,body parts a bit expensive but according to me that's a small bargain for a power-packed and a quality vehicle.

i dont get it , when people ask 6 lakh+ for a 95 honda civic people say thats justified even if its in bad condition , whereas for a 6 lakh+ 97 lancer glx in good condition, people say it isn't justified? That's messed up! Its 95 fever!

Very true dear totally agree with you....But the problem is if I am even ready to give it for less, I may not be able to find any other decent car not even a decent Mehran.....I too feel that these days cars are on fire....There is no concept of depriciation in Pakistan and seriously I found one 95 Civic prety decnt but he is even not willing to hear any thing below 725K....can you imagine 725K for 95 Civic.....So what should I do....

And no doubt my car is extra-odinary and I have 2 Preety decent offers as well.....
