Eye Specialist in Lahore (Paediatric)

Salam all Pakwheels Family!

As most of the members here knows about My Son Mustafa Shahid Ehsan, who have gone through many problems in little age, Shukar Allhamdulliha he is much better now and improving. Allhamdulliha!

His eyes were Sunken (Sun-Set) all the time during Treatment (Hospital), but after his last Operation (Insertion of VP-Shunt), his eyes came to normal position and was 95% OK.

Now from last 1-2 weeks, his eyes are not moving properly, like one eye is slow and other is bit faster, sometimes he keeps his eyes too low and if we asks him to look upward, he just move his Face up wards, do not try to move EYE's only upwards. Sometimes he follows the lights perfectly and some times he just don,t even blink, if we make him follow even very bright light.

I took him to Neuro-Surgeon, he reffered me to Eye's department in Sharif Medical Hospital, i took Mustafa there and they did some tests. According to them His eye sight is little weak (One Eye having +1.0 No. and other having +1.25 No.) but according to them its normal for babies of his age. It will come to normal as he grows.

They after doing some tests are still not sure, that slow movement of eye's are because of Nerve Syster (Neruo) or his Eye's muscles have gone weak. They wanted to do an other test to make sure, but they have given me time of 1 month, because there one Big Machine is out of order at the moment.

NOW I AM NOT SATISFIED OF SHARIF MEDICAL DOCTORS, BUT THE ONLY THING, I TOOK MUSTAFA THERE IS, THAT HIS NEURO-SURGEON WHO OPERATED HIM 5 TIMES IS ALSO IN SHARIF MEDICAL AND HE CAN LOOK AFTER WHAT EYE DEPARTMENT ARE DOING. HE CAN GUIDE ME BETTER.

BUT IF I TAKE HIM ANYWHERE ELSE, HE WILL NOT BE ABLE TO ASSIST ME.

IF ANYONE ONE OF YOU KNOW ANY GOOD PEADS EYE SPECIALIST IN LAHORE, PLEASE LET ME KNOW. AS I AM PLANNING TO TAKE MUSTAFA TO UMRAH WITHIN NEXT 15 DAYS, I AM SHORT OF TIME. SO I NEED URGENT HELP FROM ALL OF YOU.

Not in Lahore but in Mardan, if you can make a trip. 15 minutes drive from Rashakai interchange only.
My uncle is professor in Mardan medical complex and deals in pediatric eye care as well. he is very well known in KPK. let me know. InshAllah the little one will be fine.

Brother, in Children Hospital Lahore, there is a reserved section in the OPD building for paeds ophthamology. U can go there tomorrow morning around 9am(before it gets real crowded) and inquire about the professor there. If ur not comfortable with the rush and noise, u may ask for their private timings/place.
Its been almost a year since i got transfered from there, else i might have been able to give u direct references

Check with Children's Hospital on Ferozpur Road. There is a Pead eye specialist there by the name of Dr. Farooqui. Best of luck and May Allah SWT bless your son with complete health, Aameen.

Dr.. nadeem riaz best paedritc .. his clinic name is eye sight clinic 042 35878870..it is v hard to get appointment frm him but u can wait on chance...1st preference
2nd is alshafa hospital rawalpindi. Dr name is nusrat....
3rd us lrbt, but I didn't visited there

Sir jee, i took a look at the pictures of your baby, i think it is very hard to digest that, this type of problem can not be eliminated but it can be reduce, I think the doctors will suggest a glasses for him, may be they will operate him once more to reduce the deficiency, but in common language, he have to wear glasses for rest of the life. I know my words can be harsh for you but in my family , i know two persons with same deficiency. Well it is your right to go for the second opinion. Just Pray for him and give sadqa of him. May ALLAH bless him with full health and make his life comfortable in this world and hereafter. Ameen

Well bro im a doctor and im currently working in Sharif Medical city and The neurosurgeon who operated on ur Baby must be Dr nasir Raza..No doubt he is a brilliant surgeon and what I can see from ur history is that ur baby had congenital hydrocephalus hence the sunset eyes u told about..After the Vp shunt ur Baby looks much better MashAllah..And im sure nobody must have told u that in Sharif medical city We have the most famous and most renowned Professor of peadiatrics Prof Abdul Waheed sahib..if u want to get his opinion u can come to Sharif medical city I will arrange an appointment for ur baby

Regarding paediatric opthalmology u shuld straight away take ur child to childrens hospital..They have a seperate dept for paediatric opthalmology!

Bro i dont want to go to Children Hospital, because of my previous experience with Govt. Hospital. When Mustafa Got ill the very first day, i took him to Jinnah Hospital (Govt.) because it was nearest to my home and very soon i regretted my decision, but it was late, he went in to comma very soon, being admitted in Jinnah Hospital.... i know how i have managed 2 days their!!!

Bro i have been told that his eyes are getting Squint, which dont get better with any medicine, but surgery can help!
Doctors told me, person who get squint eyes without any other problem in the body, do not get better with time and do get worst as well.... but in Mustafa Case, this happened because of Brain Hommerage and pressure on nerves, their are chances of his eyes getting better themself!

Yes indeed that great person is Dr. Nasir Raza Awan, he operated my son in Fatima Memorial Hospital when we was hopeless, But his Effort and Allah ka Karam, Mustafa got better with time and few surgeroies !!!

Dr. Nasir Reffered me to Eye dept there, because it is near to him, he can talk directly to them, but if i take Mustafa to any other doctor, he wont be able to discuss with them.. thats the problem i am confused...

No body told me about Prof. Abdul Waheed Sahab... i will ask Dr. Nasir about him...

well the eye problems are usually due to increased intra cranial pressure that he has due to hydrocephalus......usually it will get better with age and control of pressure after the shunt.Also operation is done around age 10-12. But im a gastroenerologist and it's better to have expert opinion.
