AoA Dear Pak Wheel Brothers,
Sunday 11th of July was the day when we left Islamabad to explore the beauty of our beloved homeland. (H)
Loaded with the necessary luggage me and my coleague also a Pak Wheel Brother RazaPower left on our vehicles destined for Besham at 2 PM.
The rides used were Pajero Mini 2001 Model 660 InterCooler Turbo and Civic Vti Oriel 2000 Model 1.6Vtec.
Day1:- Left Islamabad at 2 PM. Route used was Islamabad->Hassan Abdal->AbottAbad->Mansehra->Batta Gram->Thakot->Besham.
Reached PTDC Besham at 9 PM. Had dinner and stayed overnight at the newly constructed wing of PTDC Besham.
Day2:- Left PTDC Besham at 6 AM. Had a quick breakfast at domail. Reached Shangrila Chilas at 2:30 and had lunch. Weather was very hot in chilas...infact throughout the KKH and AC was never turned OFF.
Left for Gilgit after having lunch at chilas and reached Northern Areas Scouts Officers Mess in Gilgit at 9 PM. Stayed overnight in Gilgit.
Day3:- Left Gilgit at 10 AM destination was Skardu. Reached Jaglot and after a brief at Jaglot left KKH and turned on the Skardu road. Road is quite narrow and dangerous.
Reached Skardu at 7 PM and explored the city and stayed at Northern Areas Scouts Officers Mess in Skardu.
Day4:- Left Skardu to explore the beautifull Shighar valley and Shighar fort. After spending couple of hours there, left for Mehndi Abad and prepared lunch at the foot of magnificant water fall in Mehndi Abad. Came back to Skardu for overnight stay.
Day5:- Left early morning for Sadpara Lake and DeoSai Plains on a rented Parado. This was the first and the last time we went somewhere on a rented vehicle, rest for all the places, we used our own rides. Spent the whole day at Deosai Plains, fired Pakoras in chilled weather at the Deosai Plains, tried some fishing in the freezing water streams but the fish were not in a mood to get caught:(.
Came back at the evening to spend the night at Skardu.
Day6:- Left for Shangirila resorts Skardu and for the next three days, stayed at Shangirla.
Went for a little offroarding on the Pajero Mini for upper kachura lake track from Shangrilla.
After three days, left for Chilas from Shangirila, was stuck near Astak Nala due to land slide on Skardu road. Eventually reached Shangirila Chilas at night and stayed overnight.
Left for Islamabad next day and reached back safe and sound ALHAMDULILLAH.
Both me and Razapower were accompanied by our khatoone khanas.
