Engine swap/upgrade 2009 corolla 1.3 to 1.8

Assalam o Alaikum, I want to upgrade my 2009 1.3 corolla to 1.8 + Auto Transmission, is there anyone who can guide me any shop or mechanic who can do this in Karachi and also what will be the cost.

buy original 1.8 auto transmission car

U will have to change complete engine, transmission and wiring.If u want car for speed get 2zz 6 speed manual instead of 1zz.

I have seen engines swapped with 1.5 Axio engines for the sake of auto transmission, should cost between 60k to 80k in Rawalpindi, chah sultan, for karachi no idea brother

U can also swap r1nz assembly and ecu.Which is also good option as it produces 109 hp instead of 84 hp.btw what's the problem with ur current engine?

JazakAllah for your valuable response, I feel my car underpower and also since 1 year it has missing problem and I have done everything I can to solve it, lot of export mechanics tried on it but none of them able to fix it for more then 2 weeks, so now I am fed up with this engine and also fedup with the performance therefore want to upgrade, i don't want to sell it because body of my car is in perfect condition

I can understand.I have driven this car and it lacks power on slopes.1nz is good option as alteration required is less compared to 1zz.Biggest task is to find good engine which has good compression.

complete engine with transmission wiring & ECU the price vary from 135000 to 200,000.

rebuild will cost very well half of it. The life after rebuild with correct basic maintenance will be over 250,000 kms.

how about going for compression test and then engine rebuild?

swap is huge risk. engines at any scrap yard are there for some reason, nobody knows history of such engines and which variant of vehicle those are taken down.

its been almost 2 years now hardly any scrap has arrived from any right hand drive country into Pakistan.

last but not least the engine number endorsement over the registration document is also required in case of swaps.

just incase you actually decide for rebuilding the engine.

spare couple of days take time off and be present. for parts buying day and on assembly of engine day.

check the engine rebuild threads over this forum and gather your information. watch carefully intervene if you see something not in sequence.
