Can i switch from engine oil 10w40 to 5w30 for corola GLI 14 model. Mileage is 120k
Want to change from Castrol magnetic 10w40 to Total quartz 9000 5w30 due to non availablity.
It's better to switch to another brand of 10W-40 instead of switching to 5W-30.
Is Engine oil sold on Pakwheel genuine. Pleas share experience if any
Yes you can change to total 5w-30 if engine is not reducing oil. It's one of the best oils in market if you are getting it from total pump directly to avoid fakes.
Engine oil is being sold at daraz. Here is the link of valvoline from distributor: &laz_token=c7b82b4fb75e29f8be196fde2bfa0498
If you want total 5w30 then here is the link sold by parco itself:&laz_token=77fce9ea0e61bb692811bedab8e33f31
I would recommend 5w30 especially Castrol magnatec.
yes you can shift to total 5w-30, its fully synthetic & good for your car's engine.
I am also shifting from total 10w-40 to total 5w-30 in my old Corolla 1994, hoping for the best.
all good after changing to 5/30 to your 94s corolla ?
yes bro ... so far so good ... till now I have driven 3500 kms on the total 5w-30 which includes two long trips of above 1k kms & numerous highway trips of around 200 to 300 kms.
And no oil reduction till now Alhamdolillah!
I am thinking to switch to 5/30 from 10/40 as well. car is 2004 1.6 auto rolla
I heard that 3zz came in SE saloon has sludge build-up issues, which eventually ends up in oil consumption etc, s consider this as well.
shift to 10w-30 1st if temp drops to single digit through out the season then shift to 5W-30
like ?
Whats that ? please explain thanku
the digits before W refers to ambient outside temperature for cold start - after xW-xx <--- these last 2 digits are the viscosity of the lubricant at optimum engine temperature
means the viscosity of xw-40 grade lubricant will remain unchanged between highest engine temperature when running and at cold start.
It cause bad piston rings due to sludge build-up on oil control rings. Bad Valve seals
Should i keep using 10/40 ? I have a service history of the car from 2010 n from that time the previous owner was pouring 10/40 in he car n i am also pouring the same.
not only 3ZZ every engine have sludge build-up issue if the oil is not changed filter is not changed but only topped up mixing multiple grades to keep dipstick oil level at OK / FULL
Ahan ... Then you can go for 5w-30.
