Engine Oil for Toyota Corolla 2014, 80K+ Mileage

Please suggest if Toyota Petron Plus (10w 30) shall be used in Corolla 2014, 80k+ Mileage, in this hot summer? Any side effects of using this thinner oil?

Any better alternates for this model?

10W-30 is best all season engine oil for EFI engines, from any reputed brand. Buy only from brand shop original product.

Any 5w30 will be fine (10w30 too, 5w30 is just my preference)

I would suggest using Total quartz 9000 5w30 or Caltex 5w30 both are fully synthetic. They are good oils and provide the best value for money imo.

Thanks for all. But what if there is some oil decrease about 0.25-0.5litres after 3000KM mileage using Petron Plus 10w30. Is it normal, or i shall move to petron 20w50 or equivalent other brand?

Its not that much its ok you can either move to 10 w40 but at this point its 100% ok to use 10w or 5w30

Yes, 10W30 is also fine.

One more point, it is written to put 3.7 litre when changing the oil filter. However, my mechanic and oil dealer suggested and added 3.5 litre on every fill. they said that they are putting 3.5 from long period in all vehicles. Is it right?

my car has completed 70k km, i'm using 5w/30 since day 1. no problem with hot or cold weather, these are all weather oils, refined for that matter.
Alhamdulillah, no oil reduction, no problem with engine... it's as good as the day i bought it..
so , it is all okay, don't worry 80k is nothing for these engines : )

actually, the thing is overfilling the oil is more dangerous than a quart or two lesser..
my mechanic also fills 3.5L oil, because if he accidentally puts more that will be more harmful for engine.
and at 3.5L oil, the dipstick also remains at perfect mark.. so i am happy with that also : )

20/50, but why ? : ( it's very thick oil for this engine...

he can try switching to thinner oil now and see how the car behaves... if it reduces oil, then he'll have to go back to thicker oil ...

Yes. but please be careful. As per assumption if you change oil from thicker to thinner, it might create issue for engines. But, it depends case to case. Any experienced member can help!

yes, only the color turns dark, but it remains at the same level.
