Got elantra GLS 1 month back. Still checking out fuel efficiency, but right now in city with AC it is giving 10.5 on economy mode. I will wait to see if it improves over time or not. Plus I have to travel on m2 soon so will check efficiency there as well. Mine is new so no idea about maintenance cost, however, I have driven, City 2008, 2013 and Civic reborn, Civic X. I would say elantra is an excellent car, I like it. Plus its body seems very solid compared to Honda.
