Dynamat alternative!

Hi guys,

Just decided to look for an alternative of dynamat and found a product called "peel & seal" and from what i've now read on a lot of forums... its actually like a complete substitute and almost 1/5 of the price. People are quoting its price to be $15 for a 24ft. roll!!!! With that price subcompact cars like cultus, alto, cuore and mehran can be completely sound proofed within RS.5,000/= and compact cars like civic and corolla can be done within RS.7,000/=

I remember when I called up the local dynamat guys in islamabad they said that completely soundproofing my cultus is gonna cost me RS.25,000/= On the other hand, this peel & seal stuff can give the same results for... as I said earlier... 1/5 of the price!!!

Let's just hope somebody imports this stuff to pakistan soon.

I doubt that its currently available in pakistan, if anyone has used it in another country then thats another thing. c'mon guys, anyone?

I have seen it installed in one 2005 civic here in karachi
But it isnt as good as Dynamat or Stinger sheets.

buddy, are you SURE that it was peel & seal?

another thing is what dynamat does is that it adds a layer of rubber to the car body, you probably have seen in examples that when there is something hollow below a lid... let's say there is a wooden box with s simple wooden lid on it and when you knock over it you can clearly hear that its "khokla" from the inside but when you add another layer of wood to the cover it acts as if its solid.

I mean its not that dynamat is some space shuttle material right? and again, the people who are discussing it are car enthusiasts as well and have seen dynamat and other stuff too.

Oh and i'm not saying that you are wrong or anything but the probability of what you saw was something else is pretty high.

We used it in all our cars in dubai to get the roof covered with it.
So the car didnt get that hot. And it made a difference of about 25%

buddy, screw the heat... how good was it in deadening the unwanted sounds? majority of us don't want a heat reflector or whatever, what we want is to make our cars as quiet as possible!

If you put the sheets on top of one another. Than you'll feel the difference. Thats how light it is.

no offense but if any other products were anywhere near as good as dynamat .. i would've definatly seen it around .. i wounder y chip foose uses and recommends dynamat .. hmm .. im sure he's insane your prolly rite cheap is good .. while your at it y don u buy an Cherry QQ instead of a Cultus .. it has more features 2 like power steering and power windows etc and its cheap .. u could prolly buy 2 for the price of your cultus what do u say ???

my point being theres always a cheap alternative .. but if your gona spend money on somthing like this then y not get the best thing out there by spending more rather then buying somthin cheap and then cryin over it later .. just my 2 cents

1 - I said 2 not 5

2 - I'm only saying that if your gona spend 10k on some unknown brand which may or may not work .. y not spend 15k and buy something that u know is reliable, is internationally recognized and is life lasting hmm...

3 - oh and as far as me restoring an old car goes .. i do have a reborn and an apv and coure and 88 sunny .. just doin it for sentimental reasons .. its my grandfathers who gave it to me before he passed away .. an im pretty sure my 4Liter 300hp V8 26 year old molester can pawn your pewny cultus any day bawhahahaha
