Driving from Pakistan to UK with a Suzuki Mehran

Guys I notice a lot of Pakistanis in the UK and Europe drive to Pakistan with cars from their respective countries has there been anyone that driven from Pakistan to the UK or Europe in a Pakistani Car like Mehran or a Bolan..If not I may want to this as a adventure next summer.

Go ahead. No one will stop you. If the law of uk allow you to bring this car in their country then no issue. Keep the related documents with you

It's a very doable adventure. The most troublesome part would be getting Carnet for the car and visas for all the countries you will be passing through. UK does not restrict temporary entry of foreign vehicles no matter what types as long as they leave UK within 6 months. Please read the link I have posted.

I used to drive Lahore to Rawalpindi and back twice a month on GT Road way back in 2005 and I found it quite tolerable. Definitely not the car to drive to UK though.

Dont go in a Mehran...you'l get really tired and frustrated

I'v drove to Pakistan from UK twice

1991 - in a Toyota Town Ace automatic
1998 - in a Toyota Previa Automatic

Automatic gear is recommended as it is a long journey. It was an amazing experience each time, would recommend it

By the way guys I currently reside in the States I am def doing this trip regardless of vehicle so the UK allows any type of vehicle for 6 months concern is the EU,Turkey and Iran and their car and C02 emmisons standards if that could kill the trip with a Mehran or Bolan.

Just confirm one thing, if they allow a car without standard safety features like aibag etc. or not.

Oh dear mate your in for some deep trouble. I drove a beamer 5 series back in 2008, the E33. I drove that from the UK to Pakistan. And now mostly along the way it's a common car fairly. But I had major issues if any of the parts malfunctioned. Finding spares and workshops....not to mention some countries would have the car and you begging for mercy as they aren't even paved. Now the mehran was never meant to be a long gt cruiser. It was meant for short hops in a city. We're talking about countries. The heap of crap can't handle bumps.has little to no braking action and ......aahhhh brotherly advice....true it's catchy and a huge adventure but the risks are higher. If you break the suspension, you do realize you pretty much won't get a spare? Because during my time I never EVER saw a Mehran in any other country from the UK well over to almost Pakistan.Id say choose some other vehicle bro. And if you still wanna do this in the mehran in summer...get a brand new one...plan your route...look for local workshops....take some spares like brakes with you...and don't cross out the A.C. when getting the vehicle...ditch the cng.

Hearing the mehran is going out of production and you're an adventure seeker, get a Volkswagen beetle first gen, overhaul it completely and take that to the UK. You w/o t have trouble for spares or anything. Can be mended with a stick and a stone. Try watching "beach boys" episode from the grand tour. You'll get my point. It would be way better than the mehran

Thanks Haibat I decided to tweak the Trip instead of having Pakistan as a the Starting Point I decided the UK would be better starting point as the car regulations for taking a outdated 1980s Pakistani assembled car is a pain in the rear and not worth to drive with in Iran,Turkey or the EU .The VW Beetle is much better idea but I am leaning on using a Pick Up Truck or Cargo Van like a Ford Transit,Toyota Hiace or Toyota Hilux and Ford Ranger I am leaning on the Ford to be honest no offense to Toyota but I like Fords looks to be honest and by the way to save money on Hotels I plan to camp out in a van or Truck in Europe for the most part.My uncle who lives in the States now did this in the 60s with a VW van and boy that was rough and the countries like Turkey and Iran has shitty roads back then and no GPS these days much easier and its becoming a thing again to drive back to the motherland now
