Rear Defogger Repair ( honda city )
Skill Level: Low
Tools: 2x hands with atleast 3 fingers in each, a multimeter, conductive marker / paint/ tape/ glue.
Time: 60 minutes
only 3 bottom lines of my cars defogger work, rest of them i assume got scratched somehow.
i read couple of DIYs on the internet, and did my own. heres it.
step 1
note the lines which are damaged
step 2
remove C pillar molds if required to access main joints of defogger.
turn on the car and defogger.
check voltage between both joints to comfirm its not a power or blown fuse issue.

step 3
identify the broken link on each damaged line.
procedure:
1. set your multimeter upto 15 dc volts
2. turn on your car and defogger
3. make sure the main joints are getting voltage
4. place positive node of multimeter on the positive end of your defogger.
5. place negative node of multimeter on the positive end aswell, the meter should read 0 volts. (make sure the nodes/pins of multimeter are round tipped. sharp pointed tips can damage the defogger further )
6. Now start moving your negative node away from the positive footprint onto the damaged line.
7. meter reading should remain at 0 volts until u cross the broken area, the moment u cross the broken / scratched area, you reading should jump upto 12-14 volts. ( this is when assuming u have only one scratched area per line, if u have 2 or more, the meter will jump to 12volts only after crossing the last broken area ( closest to ground, furthest from positive node ) )
8. now u have identified the damaged area on the line.
9. repeat this procedure on all lines. and note

step 4
now that you know whr the damaged areas are, we can apply the fix., namely
Conductive tape ( not sure if available in Pakistan ) LINK
Conductive Marker ( suggested by Ghuncha, not easily available ) LINK
Conductive Glue or paint, need carbon graphite or better copper powder to make this at home, my first attempt did not work as i hoped. it gave me a resistance of 500 ohms, i was hoping something under 50 ohms

this is where i will leave u ppl, my experiment with home made glue did not work quiet well, im gonna search the market for marker or tape, if any of u know whr i can get them, plz do post.
i will update this thread in a day or two.
