Hello AoA.
I am planning on buying a 2005-2006 toyota crown. I have seen a few now but i wanna know difference between Athlete and Royal Saloon. I know that there is a difference in suspension but what else difference is there and what difference in options etc? And which is a better option to purchase? Please let me know asap.
@rajaatta spill the beans please
Athlete had bigger rims, different tail lights, darker interior, sports suspension, bigger engine option (3.5 V6), extended front and rear bumpers.
Baaqi features are more or less the same.
AoA brother!
So, the Athlete only comes in dark interior and not beige/creame interior??
And also, is the sportier suspension of the Athlete meant to make the rid bumpier?? I mean, will there be any major comfort differences between athlete and royal saloon?
Well, almost all Crown Athlete I've seen have dark interior. But there's one on Pakwheels that has a beige interior.
The ride will be stiffer and you'll feel the bumps. Royal saloons suspension is softer.
Well, thank you so much! I am definitely going for a 2005 Crown Athlete 3.0 with sunroof! I hope it is a better option compared to Mark X 300G premium and 2008 Thai Honda Accord. I’ve previously owned a Honda Accord Cl9 so I think this will be quite a step up!
Sorry for this again, lame question but if a Crown has a sunroof, it indicates the car is full optioned or atleast is almost full optioned? Or is it possible that a plain-ass basic crown can have a sunroof too?..
Well, a full-optioned Crown should have heated seats, push start and a sunroof.
Crown Athlete are the sportier versions of the luxury Royal saloons.the model year you are looking for comes with 2.5 engineSmoked headlightsAthlete front grill round LEDs in back lightsgrey/black wooden trim and same black/grey roomsports suspension bigger wheelspush start / sunroof etc /
Okay so is the 2.5L athlete underpowered compared to a 3L Royal saloon? And does it not come with a 3L engine variant in 2005 year?
dont know about 3.0L but 2.5 athlete is definitely not under power. It spins and sways when pushed with traction off.
The 2.5L Crown is not underpowered at all. In fact, it packs a punch.
