Dent On My honda City Back Side

Dear Friends, today my new car back hit with tree. So get the dent on my back of car. I need your help how to remove this dent. Should I need to fix with dry dent or need to paint whole back of car? Or just need to paint the damage area after dry dent.

that looks bad better take it to some professionals as silver is very difficult to work on (to match perfectly)... I'll suggest if u can afford go to HONDA they are expensive with some serious skills If u know any local denter with good reputation pay him a visit... Let me give u estimate... Road side will take max 3 to 4k for bot denting and painting and honda might take 10k for both who knows...

i would suggest not to take risk if you appreciate your car, go to honda i know they will charge more but atleast satisfaction would be guaranteed.
I think dry denting will make it look better but marks will be visible.

I think dry denting is not possible on that area due to curves. Repaint is the only solution. Honda guys will repaint the whole trunk "diggi" to match the color.

Dear all thanks for your response.
my car is insured. i will go to honda without any doubt. last night i go the local denter, just to get the info. He told me, it be fixed with dry dent. he will paint only damage area, use the lechler on it reset of trunk.
it is ok. or need to paint the complete trunk.

Honda guys dont do dry denting.
If the car is insured why not get the trunk replaced?
Denting will never give a perfect finish on these lines and edges.

If the car is insured then get it replaced and before inviting the insurance guy discuss the matter with mechanic because insurance company might want to fix it instead of replacing boot.

yesterday i want to honda showroom. total cost of repair is Rs. 5800. and replacement cost is Rs. 25000. honda mechanic say to me that you can replace it with new one. My insurance company has no issue. to replacing it. In case of fix that dent. only small portion of back is painted as discussed with denter(s).

My Question is that
1) which will decrease my car resale value? repair it or Change with new one.
2) which is batter option. new or repair

This all the work will be done from the honda showroom.

Bhai make sure if u have set ur mind on changing the boot then get the original one... Repair will do the job if doe by HONDA... Told ya they have magic in their hands

Actually my mind is not change the digi, just to repair it. it will done my work from honda. not from local mechanic. batter option is replace or repair it?

Get it replaced. This part cant be restored to 100%. Would need alot of filling. And the filling would mismatch the paint. Get a new trunk as per the standard SOPs.

Bro told ya when it comes to denting and painting HONDA is the place... Replacement can be considered but it can also cause Misalignment, Leakage etc. Insurance companies also tend to replace the OEM part with copy one (My personal experience)... And about the paint job even replaced trunk needs to be repainted... So get it fixed rather than replacing... And i can assure you 100% fix coz my UH 6 got badly hit from the back during an emergency brake... There was very serve damage under the number plate and between the tail lights... I know an Road Side Denter and Painter located in G-10. They are both brothers and are really good at their job... My UH 6 is black so matching was not a big issue but they are really good at their job having 16 yrs of experience... Any how ur car is new and assured so go for fix from honda with close eyes... And make sure to sign an paper about 100% match

Last time i go HONDA Fort in Lahore, Today i go to any other honda dealer HONDA GETWAY. he also told me you have to change the back trunk(DiGi). he told me same thing, this dent will not completely removed. because of this dent on trunk round portion(means on goli, goli ka dent remove ni hota properly).

Both HONDA dealer are forcing me to change it. PLZ Tell me what to do.

I believe they are right, it would be very hard to get the dent out completely. They would then finish it with a filler to get the right shape.

At least with a new trunk its not a repaired piece. Dont know about honda fort, but gateway have bake paint so the results are fine. Plus they would get the original trunk from factory, not from the open market. Insurance will pay them so they have no reason to cheat in this manner.

For your piece of mind, take pictures of the fittings etc of the trunk, and compare it afterwards so you are sure they did it properly.

Oh man its on the curve My bad they are right! no matter how much filler you will use u will never make it perfect... I think you need to replace it... Make sure they are replacing this with OEM not any other copy etc... Match every inch, hole and bolt of both trunks before replacing...

Just get new part and you are good to go. No effect on resale and it will be perfect. I have been through this type is issue and went for replacement in my previous corolla.

The dent is on an area where you have to get the seals of trunk opened to get it perfect and without opening the seals the dont wont go completely and it will recquire putty on it to make the shape and paint doesnt match or stay properly on putty and gets cracked if force is applied on it
In my opinion best pption is to get it dry dented wome marks will stay but the paint will be orignal
In case of changing the part the buyer will always have suspision k what forced you to change it even if you show he will think why didnt u just it dry dented as it is not a big dent but just at the wrong place
Dry denting will do the magic i say you shouls go for it
