  1. If I let the car sit overnight and drain it in the morning as opposed to warming up the Engine/Oil and then draining it, which would drain more oil? i.e. sitting overnight, most of the oil would drain to the pan from nooks and crannies?

  2. What method could be used to change the most CVT oil? Other than taking the whole tranny apart.

  3. Is it necessary to change the CVT oil strainer (filter) which shows up once the Oil pan is removed. I don't see an official part for it available. Third party parts are sold for that.

  4. IF I were to start the car, while CVT oil pan is empty/drained, what would happen if it remains in park? Would it drain further oil? Do I risk trapping air or such?

change it after warming up the car at normal operating temperatures. no need to wait over night. just drain the old fluid and open the oil pan by opening the oil pan you will drain the extra 1 liter of old oil , after opening the pan wait for 1 -2 hours for more oil to drain as there is no procedure of oil flush in these k310 cvt's . no need to take the whole tranny apart.

1: observe the wear on the pan magnet's if it had more deposits then go for the valve body servicing. it will give your transmission a new life with smooth more power just get the reading analyzed by techstream. for more info you can contact me. one thing more i am starting a new thread relating to valve body servicing's of cvt transmission which restores the power and life back of these transmissions.

Thanks for your response and awaiting your topic.

there you go will start a thread on valve body servicing but cant find some time so for time saving just view the video and you will find your answer's .. btw will start a thread when i get free.... lot of cvt trans services have been performed in these days so i am busy there will get back to you later...

Much appreciated! I do have further questions now though if you don't mind answering please.

When (in terms of kilometers) should the valve body servicing be done? You have mentioned that the tranny was facing low oil pressure. Was it the oil pressure at Idle or while running? What are the abnormal oil pressure values that one should look out for? Did it throw any DTC about CVT? Ideally, should it not bring about a DTC before there is a fault with the CVT, that would call for valve body servicing? You have written that the temperature is better now. What is its range now?

Do you perform Stall Rotational Speed Inspection (and the oil pressure inspection when it happened)?

Just wait for few days will post a new video in which before and after oil pressure is mentioned. And improvement will be mentioned as well. If you had some knowledge of diagnostics of these cvts transmission. You should analyze the values through techstream. Oil pressure is measured through onboard oil pressure which is pre installed inside valve body assy. The oil pressure testings are carried out on idle as the repair manual suggest it testing on idle speed through techstream active testing features. It has low and high testings. And you can easily analyze the values. Low pressure or dropping oil pressure doesnt trigger the cel. And not throw any dtc at all. And there is no call for valve body servicing. The diagnoser should perform the tests and advice the related servicings. Temperature ranges for normal driving conditions ranges from 80-89c in winter and abnormal temperatures are more than this and also if the vehicle is driven under stress for longer period the oil becomes hot and starts to cool down immediatly when the vehicle is at stationary or idle position. But in stucking valve body oil temperature doesnt cools down immediatly and the average temperatures stay more than 90c even in the cold winter now a days. Lastly. These are not the normal clutch pack transmission and older which requires stall tests. These cvts can easily be monitored by teachstream by active testing. Got it. In cvts oil pressure is measured in idle not by stall test.
