CVT Issue - P0967 Pressure Control Solenoid "B" Control Circuit High

Hi Guys

Got a Vitz 2010 automatic transmission. Since last Friday I got the engine check light on. The pick up of the car went extremely low and there seemed to be an issue with changing gears and the RPM got very high when the car reached a speed of aroun 80-90 kmph. It seemed as if the car was stuck in 3rd gear from 0 - 100, low pick-up, after 40kmph it behaved normally but didnt change gears as expected and by the time it reached a speed of 90-100 the engine was roaring as if on very high RPM.

I got it checked, CVT filter was serviced, gear oil was changed and the car went smoothly for a day before the problem recurred. My mechanic suggests changing the complete gearbox which will cost me around 50K pkr.

Could there be some other issue, any fixes, someone else faced a similar problem.

It seems like its not the gear box issue. Is there any technically sound mechanic who can diagnose this and get this replaced. I am in Karachi btw

P0967 Pressure Control Solenoid B Control High Circuit is one of the Solenoids inside the transmission. You need to replace (in most cases), wiring in some case is culprit. No need to change the gearbox, get the solenoid replaced. It'll cost you somewhere Rs. 2500-4000 for the solenoid, Rs. 1500-2000 for the labor. Do change the CVT oil afterwards. The mechanics will tell you that "i have saved your cvt oil" don't believe that

In this case you dont need the transmission to be replaced its a simple job.....

Ok Now follow the steps i am writing down to counter this solenoid problem..

1: First of all Open up the Oil sump and Ask the mechanic to disconnect the all 5 Solenoids grips. ....
2: Ok there are 2 Pressure or Ratio Shift Solenoids in this Vitz K410 CVT Transmission. Both Of the Solenoids are same in shape and had a similar Grip configuration with Only SINGLE WIRE. And has A brown Colour Connector.
3: Check for poor connection between solenoid and connector (USUALLY THIS FAULT OCCURS WHEN THE CONNECTOR WIRING IS IN BAD SHAPE NORMALLY CURED BY FIXING THE CONNECTOR WIRE
4:Take a Electrical wire connecting to positive terminal and check the both solenoids and see if they are ticking properly if not working then time to replace only (SOLENOIDS) NOT THE WHOLE TRANSMISSION

If you misunderstood the steps than wait till tomorrow I will shoot a brief video and will post it here for your ease on how to do it properly ok.

Would you suggest visiting Toyota service centre to get this done. Or if you can suggest a trust worthy place in Khi where I can get this done

No don't even think of visiting those looters Toyota dealerships.
Find just a simple mechanic the rest of the procedure I will tell him on the phone ,immo , what's app whatever will be convenient. And sorry for the video as I was too much busy will shoot it today. And will share.

Noticed something else. When AC is turned off the pickup is fine. With AC its just dies

Aoa bro, i have the same issue . The engine check light occured as vitz 2010 was unable to drive on inclined roads of muzaffarabad. After the scanner checking the indication of P0967 of pressure solenoid B High control is shown & persist. So kindly help me.out what to do??

It could be either wiring issue to the ecm had gone bad.
Solenoids on this model are super tough so there is a less chamce that solenoid is faulty. But first check the connector on top of the transmission that its fine and there are no sighn of pin corrosion.

I am having similar issue of p776 and p746 codes. Mechanic cleaned the grip on the transmission with carb cleaner as there was moisture inside it and the car became normal for a week and but after a week issue is now back with same codes.
