Crown - Engine Swap

Hello Everyone!

This is my recent purchase, Toyota Crown:

Now coming to the issue, the engine has blown off and i need suggestions for the same. My mechanic is of the view that spending on the current engine would be of no use and the same should be replaced. Currently, its running a 3000cc petrol engine. I need suggestions from the experts here specifically related to the most suitable engine without any modifications.
Main thing to be considered is that it has to be auto tranny!
Waiting for your valuable input and whether you agree with my mechanic or not!!

which engine are you running currently?

This chassis can house anything from a JZ, UZ to a KZ,KD diesel depends on your preference and your pocket.

Honestly i dont know the exact details right now of the current engine.
Moreover can you share the estimated cost of the options available starting from the minimum and availability.

If you can afford it go for 1uz-fe 4.0 petrol v8 !
That can surely put a smile on your face !

Cost estimate?
It has to be used as a daily runner so i keep that thing in my mind for sure!!

In my opinion a 2jz or 1jz will do fine.

I think 1uz costs 2-3 lakh (clean piece)
And if you want a daily runner then please go for 2jz-ge .....

If I were you I would have gone for the biggest engine with higher torques at low rpms chassis can house because a bigger engine will be running on lesser rpms than a smaller engine would do in a same drive. I think go for any of uzfe 1,2 you will love the ride because when you will be travelling on motorway at speed of 120 suddenly you realize that wow rpm is at 2000-2200 rpm you will love it, and because ride would be traveling at 2200 rpm so fuel efficiency is guaranteed

I agree with your suggestion of a bigger engine but the budget has to kept in mind too. Moreover, since the vehicle is planned to be a daily runner, i would rather opt for a smaller engine with as less modifications as possible.

2JZ is around 100k these days and it will suit you best.

Are you sure about the T part? it is going to be a daily runner. I guess 2JZ-GE would be sufficient enough.

Yes. 2JZGE would be sufficient. but
When you are spending some money. Why don't go for a better item which performs well too?.
It all depends upon the budget of poster.

2JZ-GE would be cost efficient in both ways i.e buying/installing cost as well as the running cost. I'm suggesting that as it would be a daily runner hence less of hassle.

i have been approached by fellow pakwheelers for few options in 2jz-ge!
I think that the swap is gonna be either 1jz or 2jz!
One more question: since the transmission of my car is working perfectly, is it advisable to keep it and buy engine without gear?

ap ki car is 1991 with 3.0L 2JZ-GE engine then ideal condition is get it overhauled. swap karnay mai you may need alot of work done including ECU wiring and stuff which may ruin the performance & comfort of car.

agar USTAAD kay baas ki baat nahi hai to goto some Toyota Shop and get estimate for overhaul she is already equipped with the best engine of her class

i second him! Go for an overhaul rather than engine swap. in the case of an engine swap you would need to overhaul that engine aswell. so rather overhaul this one

dont overhaul .... 2jzge costs around 70-80k ... swap is quite a simple process ,it takes 2 days max .... dont go for other impracticable troublesome engine swaps .... seeda seeda kaam karo
