Cracking of Windscreen n its solution....?

Hey PW members,
AOA,
i wana tell u guys that last niught there was a big storm in islamabad due to which i got one crack in my front wind screen due to the falling of shell from tree...wana ask u guys that can it be repaired or will i have to go for the new windscreen...windscreen is not leaky yet but it has got a cracked line...
plz comment...?

scratches are repairable but cracks are not if deep...
maybe post pics....

i got a crack of abt 4 inches in ma crolla windscreen... n it increased to 7-8 inches within 3 dayz.... in Multan there is a person who fix it by using elfy type chemical in rs.400.... 30% crack was removd but the existing crak didnt grow even a single cm after that treatment n never leaked...

in isb there must b some person doing this... but need to find them out, coz these ppl dnt hav shopes... they just pick up a bag n wander around the workshops... lyk while visitng workshops u might hav seen ppls who sale rubbers, vipers rubber n offer u to get car comound or make ur mirrors or lights shine...
do ask ur mechanic, or shope from u purchase ur car parts... some 1 might b knowing them...

other option is.. go to shop selling windscreen (even if they dnt do it,then can tell u a person who do this)... they will make a hole by drilling at the end point of the crack... and the crack will nt further increase...

and if crack is throughout the screen... then dont go for ''jugaar'' must change it ASAP...

Windscreen Cracks can never be repaired. Observe yours, if it stops growing then don't worry otherwise the only solution is a new windscreen.

Yes repair is possible. Check in the phone book there must be a windshield repair shop in Islamabad. Get it done as soon as possible because it will get bigger if you drive your car.

Windscreen Cracks can never be repaired. Observe yours, if it stops growing then don't worry otherwise the only solution is a new windscreen.

i have visited two persons...
one is in double road and he asked for 1500 ruppees for limiting further spread n leakage of crack with the help of laser welding....2nd one is at sultan ka khou and asked for rs 500 but with chemical which he said would restrict further growth....comment plz....?

also i wana ask that if even cracks getng more n more then is there a possibility that screen would be broken or it will be just a cracked screen look which i vl have to tolerate....?????

WindScreen doesn't really break easily as far as I know, if you get it repaired the cracks won't spread further

Here they drill tiny hole and inject it with bonding chemical. If you won't get it fixed then same crack will grow.

They repair it. I remember reading a similar post where A baba jee was doing repair of front screen. I think that was in Karachi but something similar will surely be in Pindi if not in Isb. You can search PW or a member may be able to locate that thread!
