The corolla EE100 XE (model 1993 to 2000) has lot of vacuum pipes fitted around carburetor. There is a vacuum device fitted in every pipe which has one side yellow & other side red in colour. If any of the pipe is disconnected from both sides then it is difficult to connect it again because it is not known to a normal user which colour to be kept to which side. Does these two colours have any significance in connection?? & how to know that which colour is to be kept on which side in connection? Can any expert help??

another member is also having problem with the vacuums of his 86 corolla. why dont u leave this job to a mechanics who does this stuff on regular basis then experimenting urself

Agreed with Hash4u...
better ask mechanic to connect them...!
B/w....2E have lots of Vacuum piping...so don't mess with it...! once its messed...its so hard to pipe them again...!

Yellow is always low pressue side and Red is on high pressure side, its standard coding for all gas/oil/auto industries.

But Troubleshooter should away from trouble......:slight_smile:

I had same problem with my 1998 4Runner, we installed a different engine in it...... every thing went fine, some how we put the wrong line at the wrong hole..... engine seems like was running on 3 cylinder..... make it short...... I end-up taking to toyota dealer..... it was not cheap.... after that ran like a baber sher... and peace of mind..... bitched about day or 2 about spending that much amount...but than I was happy the way it worked

Yeah Vacuum piping have to be like taken care off...!
if you put it wrong......! you are actually making engine running in wrong direction....:slight_smile: bcz from Vacuum....so many of things are getting signals....!
Thanx to newly designed engines that they don't have not so much Vacuum pipings.....! :slight_smile:
