Confused between Third Gen Prius and Honda Fit Hybrid Second gen

AOA guys.

As the heading says, I am very confused about which one to buy. I basically need a car that I can keep for atleast 7 years which can give me a reasonable resale value as well. Fuel economy is a priority but I want some 'fun to drive' factor as well. Also, price difference is significant.

I would really appreciate advice from users of preferably both vehicles as to which car should i buy. I would really appreciate the help.

If you want to keep for 7 years, have good resale and good fuel economy then I would suggest a new and small car like City, Wagon R, Cultus or new Alto. Hybrids are prone to be expensive to buy and need qualified maintenance and after 7 years won't sell at a good price. Your choice.

As another member suggested, Hybrids will give you low fuel economy, fun to drive or it can last 7 years. Maintenance is expensive. resale value after 7 year, Be ready to take a hit of 300-400k loss compared to local vehicles.

I can deal even with a reasonable loss on the car but my heart is set on a hybrid vehicle. I want to know which of the two is better in terms of performance, fuel economy and reliability.

when making a capital investment use brain & wisdom. USED 3 year old scrap hybrid is useless investment, at the price of locally assembled new vehicle with warranty, support & services.

@capsat has summed it up. Of the two hybrids Prius has my vote. Better technology and more repute than the Honda.

As per now I will request not buy Hybrid vehicle (any imported car), Because of car import ban. Only buy if you can import it yourself. Car dealers are tampering this Hybrid vehicles with mileage, they will sell you car with Battery at end of life. I Have Toyota Aqua 2015, and its very difficult to switch from Hybrid Car to normal, But trust me don't buy scrap only import yourself with low ODO. Read the following thread, He got cheated,

No they don't fail if you Buy Genuine car with auction grade 4, 4.5 or 5 & onward.

You are right about this one, but if one imports a none accidental car with low mileage it last's more than 5 years.

Those cars are bought from scrapyards so they belong to scrapyard, you can't say it about all JDM cars,

I read the incident in the link. Literally dil ghabra gaya after reading the torture that buyer went through. I am guessing this 'shok' will have to be post-poned for 5 years. I'd probably be better of buying a non-hybrid jdm like fielder or fit shuttle.

Just make sure that auction sheet is real and it can be verified.

Get the recent modeled one, or import the car yourself (don’t know if importing the car still works) a good grade one will serve you right for years, 4.5 and above is a good grade, but be ready because it’s gonna be expensive as well. Look for a low mileage one, and not a “slightly” Pakistani used one, those are just meter reversed & codes cleared before the day of sale.

Though, I would advice you to buy a local car, it’s not really that bad. You can get the brand new 1.6 with 3S dealer support all over the country, parts are aren’t a problem, resale isn’t a issue, car is comfortable, it is feature packed, fun to drive, fuel economy is good. And best of all, it’s made in Pakistan 🇵🇰 🤣

Guys, i'm getting a prius third gen, 2011 S package, 2014 registered with 108k km on the odo for 1770k. Is that a fair price or am i overpaying? The car is single owner (self imported by them) and well maintained (got it checked by the mechanic as well).

PS: Does prius require tuning or is it ok to drive it as it is until an error shows up?
