Comparison of fuel consumption of altis auto 1.6 2017 model and Gli 1.3 auto 2017 model

Please draw comparison between the two vehicles with latest models of 2017...Altis 1.6 Auto and Gli auto 1.3, 2017...which one is more fuel efficient??Fuel consumption of which car is better. Expert opinion please.

Fuel economy figures are
Gli 1.3 auto within city 9-10 and 14-15 on highways
Altis 1.6 10-11 within city and 15ish on highways
Altis 1.8 cvt 11-13 within city and 15-18 on highways.

Yes 1.8 cvti cruisetronic or grande are the most fuel efficient cars in 11th generation corolla.

true I have gli auto 2017 its giving me 9-10city and around 12on highway
the car is only 2700km driven
whereas hav grande 2016 its giving me 11-12 in city and around 17-18 on highway the car is 11k driven

Bigger engine has to work less for carrying load provided the same conditions hence burn less fuel as compared to smaller engine.

My Gli auto gives 11 constantly and that too with a heavier foot then light. 50 % gear changes are not in eco when i drive daily. Still gives good mileage.
It all depends on how you take care of it. Always wheel balancing done and alignment.
And secondly . And for fuel in the whole Pindi Islamabad areas i only use 4 petrol pumps and never use any other cause low quality fuel always drops the mileage

In pindi and islamabad car gives better fuel economy due to long stretches. My 1.8 cvti was giving 13-14km/l within city there.

That’s not the only factor. 2zrfe is of new technology dual vvti and sfi with latest cvti gearbox which came into market in 2013 and came in grande in 2014. 2nzfe of gli is pretty old engine; Moreover, 2nzfe is in Pakistani corolla from like 2000.

My daily driving is from DHA-2 To islamabad and everybody knows the traffic situation near Soan,Pwd and then Gulberg and Islamabad Expressway isnt an expressway anymore. I can barely reach 60 before i have to break again all the time

Gate 3 (Giga Mall) k opposite its not good. And Gate 1 wala its average

The biggest filling station for dha 2 is the total filling station near gate 5. That's where majority of the cars from dha 2 come for their service, oil changes, and filling as well

Agree.
The cvt-i is the major factor here for fuel economy. The old school 4speed auto sucks when one get a feel of Cvt-i.
The 2nz is pretty much improved with VVT-i and SFI fuel injection but the problem is the 4speed auto and heavy body.

Not improved with vvti still there is knocking, and still its efi, only 1zrfe and 2zrfe have sfi

My altis 1.6 gives 9.5-10km/l with ac all the time. 1.6 engine is quieter than 1.3 and I don't like 1.3 noise, it's kind of hollow and screamy.

Yours Altis is 2017???Other members as suggested above have cited it's fuel average as 14 to 15 on highways...so it is surprising as to why there is difference...
