Go for civic x oriel. I myself own a facelift corolla altis 1.8 cvti hardtop.
Civic X has better interior and exterior styling(subjective opinion), has better driving dynamics i.e better handling, braking, stability especially at higher speeds, has a lower driver seat in which you feel more connected to the road, has a lower dashboard which makes front visiblity more, has e brake instead of conventional handbrake which gives a clean look.
Corolla grande on the other hand has superior headlight which gives more night visiblity, has many other goodies like reverse link,pedal shifters etc, has huge ground Clearance which results in hideous rear wheel gap. Also corolla is good if you go to rural area often.
Fuel average of both cars is more or less the same i.e 10,11 in city and 13,14 highway.
As far as resale is concerned, PKDM gari ho easily sale ho jati ha
Both are very good cars and you wont be disappointed if you go with either of them but if you are a driving conscious person and drive at higher speed then go for civic.
Before making a decision, i would say go to your nearest honda and toyota dealership with your family and see both cars in person to have a clear idea about styling and features etc
