Civic X ABS, VSA light on

Today I am driving the car and out of now where such lights appear on speedo meter. I stopped for a while to check. Battery terminals are rusted, cleaned them but the code re appears. Anybody guide me what is this all about ?

Got my car scanned, the obd shows malfunction in left hand side wheel sensor. Whereas, mechanic suggested to change wheel bearing as fault wheel bearing generates malfunction code. Don't know what is the exact problem.

I noticed you also have the ABS and a general brake fault light on too. The wheel bearing needs to be changed if it is noisy. If you do not hear a roaring or groaning noise from the front left of the car, my guess is that the bearing is fine. Over the years in such cases my experience has been a broken sensor wire. If I was you, I'd replace the sensor and then go from there.

These cars have the magnetic tone wheel for the abs built into the grease seal of the wheel bearing,

Hammer or any work with striking force can shatter the bearing and create a situation where a wheel seems to report going faster as when the magnet breaks it has more poles to make more pulses.

Anyway, its literally sad to see he went to a shop to get it scanned but the shop didnt bother checking the wheel speed signal, its just a few more taps on the scan tool itself. It solves abt 50% diagnosis, the rest 50% is doing isolation checks.

Yes, asked from another electrican, after thorough inspection, we find the left speed wheel sensor is not working. Will change that soon.

So your electrician changes wheel bearings?

No, he suggested wheel bearings change and told me about the attached magnet. I was reluctant to believe it because I had never heard that before. Meanwhile, I will ask him to swipe the left sensor with the right wheel sensor and see if the code changes accordingly.

Did he do isolation testing or just read out the codes?

Btw, every rotating part requiring careful sensing has a hall effect or Permanent magnet variable reluctance sensor.

Interesting. Why would the magnetic part separate out from the bearing unless some kind of blunt force trauma was seen by the bearing. It just can't fall apart.

The magnetic part doesnt separate but can fracture if someone uses a hammer on or near the bearing.

Like our mechanics love to use to separate ball joints or push the axle stub from the hub.

Update:

Today went to the mechanic again to perform isolation testing. Both the sensor and wiring work fine. The problem lies in the connector. It got loose in some bump .. the sensor got detached and reconnected. All the codes were gone. The car works fine now.

I am facing the same issue, i went to my electrician he put a scanner and told there’s your gear selector switch needs to be replaced.
But on the other side there is no issue with my gear shifting etc. what should i do ? Suggest me some good electrician/mechanic in karachi.

When I restart my engine, these lights go away. Sometimes, they start to blink on the same day, but other times, it takes weeks. I still couldn't find the solution.

You may have driven with auto brake hold. Restart and drive for 10 km
