Civic 2018 a well known problem which pakwheels should address

Today i am writing this as i have been facing this issue since January. My steering rack was getting stuck. I have civic 1.8 oriel 2018 which is only 17000 driven. And is driven by me, if any of you highlight a rough use i am already clearing it have driven it with all care. I went to the dealership at sargodha from where I purchased the car. I told them to check as the steering rack which is getting stucked. They said its at minor level. I asked them do you agree that there is a problem in this. He said yes. I argued him that why don’t you claim it then he replied that this is too less noise it will be rejected. I told him calmly that weather its less or high its a fault claim it. He checked my warranty booklet he said ok then all of a sudden he was like there is no perodic maintaince history. I told him i got the inspection done at 8000kms. The time i went there for claim my car was 13 thousand. They charged me for all the service at 8000kms they were like sorry we can’t do at company warranty provided coupon. After waiting for so many months calling them again and again. Yesterday on my way back home from naran my steering rack was getting so much stucked that i drove at the speed of 20 -30 kmph. It was a life risking experience. If honda agrees that fault is there they should immediately change it. All of us have spend ruppees on our vehicles. We do have a right to fight for whats wrong.

Even i failed to get my right. Today i went to a private repair shop from where i got this fixed. The built quailty of honda is justified in the pictures.
The grease was like silicon inside the assembly which was not letting the steering rack work properly.

I raise a voice against these local manufacturers that is this what we deserve ! DO YOU RAISE A VOICE ? DO YOU.

Help me making this forum reach till higher members of pakwheels so that MR. Suneel sarfraz or any other person address this issue in pakwheels weekly.

I welcome you all to participate in this compaign of getting your rights as we are the loyal costumers and we cannot tolerate this anymore.

Customers spending so much money. Prices are higher than international but still we are getting less features and bad quality. No check on quality by these companies. Government is also involved in this. Pakistan is in the hand of crooked elite. Very disappointed

Sir today we aren’t meeting international levels but we wanna quote the values of the cars according to international ones. Dollar not stable price not stable. The ones who pay in dollars aren’t facing this.

You must launch a complaint at Citizen Portal as well. They were wrong to make an excuse of oil change to deny warranty. Steering rack has no connection to it. Usually steering problems are not denied on this base. Check from Lahore dealerships as well

Sure sir. I will raise this issue at every possible place. I want them to stop this with the people. I don’t want them to be like ok we replace yours. I want them to stop this drama. Stop playing with the lives of innocent costumers all over pakistan.

Where did tou get it fixed? How much was the cost involved and how much time did it take?

I got it fixed from a private Machenic in sargodha. Can share you the number if you want any help

They opened the whole assembly cleaned it regreased it and fitted it back. Also the motor was cleaned and fitted all again. Be careful from where you getting this done cuz there are plastic bearings on top of shocks when you take the assembly off if you will pull the hub out it will break.

citizen portal is another place to lodge the complaint make sure to send copy of the same to honda.

this portal is useless for such issues.

I would like to tell the poster, that's the common problem in civic X. At first dealerships used to change whole steering assembly but now they just grease the said part. In Hyderabad loads of cars had this changed altogether in warranty. And than some mechanic came up with greasing thing and all sorted out. You should have forced them for change or tried another dealership.

In my experience of work at a Honda dealership....they never approve or take a warranty claim if the first 3 free service coupons are not utilised via any dealership....not supporting Honda here, just my experience with this out of logic reason to reject a claim.

You can attach all the legal documents, and inspect it from some reputable workshop that is doing legal business like ntn registered, and the warranty they offer, and sue them in court by launching an FIR against honda company and the center from where you purchased the car. There's no other way that you can get this in highlight.

This happens in certain no. of american civics too, the rack starts to lock up, honda replace it free of charge, because its a safety issue which can kill the driver.

Ill dig it up to see what the actual fault in rack is, its not just greasing i remember. And the racks dont use regular grease either. They have a grease resembling axle grease but sticky
