City 2012 acceleration

Aoa guys i have a city 2012 , whenever AC is turned on , its acceleration goes down and it jerks , and ruins the pleasure of its drive , is tuning recommended and should i get it done from a dealer ship or any other shop ?

I had the exact model city as you. The problem with this car is with heavy load and air conditioning on you'll get a pretty hefty performance loss. No worries though just have a shotgun guy who will turn your ac off during overtaking, thats what i did :p.

Offtopic: My new car is gli and im 100% sure that its acceleration without ac is less than city's acceleration with ac on so enjoy this car even if you feel its running slowly on ac, but what can you expect from a 1300cc engine.

You 2 think you are the only musloom over here...ask me...shifted from a 2006 Altis to a 35,000km driven 2010 City No doubt City is a beautiful car but when it comes to power I miss that old lady

better take a test drive of 2002 city hyper valve with ac on! ull be amazed that what type of engine that car have! D13b hypervalve will put ivetec to shame!

Agree...had kept that car for almost 2 years...it was much powerful....BUT @cooldevil...you just cant compare the fuel average of the current generation City...seems this thing really runs on the smell of the fuel but but... I was shocked to see inside the engine bay, they have reduced the weight of the car by having plastic splash shields instead of the metal yes I belong to the stone age...and I dont like such changes.

yes on fuel thing i have to agree! my exis does 12 kmpl with ac in city! but i am ready to bear that at the cost of driving pleasure! i enjoy this car more than my 7th gen vti! new city is best in fuel economy!

To get the most out of the city's engine is to keep it above 3k rpm. Its low end torque is absolutely horrendous. For max torque keep it in high revolutions and it wont let you down.
I have driven my city with AC on and 6 passengers on board to monal easily, didnt get stuck and climbed on the sloped and curves pretty easily. As i said keep it in high revs, in low revs the car is seriously dumb witted.

It most definitely will just keep the tire pressure low and rpm high. Depends on the driver but had a few wheelspin moments when trying to accelerate at a steep climbing curve(Traffic was too much so could not maintain speed). But people take their mehrans with heavy load to monal, this is a 1300c car so no worries, im sure you have the skill to take this to monal easily.

Well yeah obviously 1300 is nothing compared to 1800 plus the comfort of Altus as compared to city is much much more

Cant understand why every Honda City owner seems to be suffering from an inferiority Complex from Toyota Corolla?

City is a wonderful compact sedan, i feel its quite powerful and can drag more than Xli/Gli, the 1.3 engine is adequate to run AC efficiently and easily go places like Monal etc.

get periodic maintenance done from dealerships and it will run good with or without AC

Corolla is softer than city with a better AC but city runs better and is easier to handle.
