I just bought a City 2009 new shape not IDSI and filled the tank with 15 liters of fuel, and upon driving meter shows 14-16km/l but the fuel gauge drops quickly, like it's giving 6-7km/l. Please help!

not a big deal, get its spark plugs cleaned / replaced, catalytic converter cleaned, check tyre pressure, or better get full "tuning" done if you can ... fill the tank to max from a reputable fuel station and then calculate fuel average...

we cannot exactly calculate fuel average with few liters of petrol or half a tank etc... generally speaking, the fuel needle seems to drop faster after the tank is half empty as compared to when it is full.

ho to sakta hai, lekin mujhy exactly nahi pata k reserve light hamesha EXACTLY same amount of fuel per on hoti hai k nahi .. ho sakta hai koi half ya quarter liter ooper neechy on hoti ho reserve light ? ... koi expert bata sakta hai ... ya phir... ap ko 2 - 3 baar ye experience kar k dekhna hoga.. kya har bar same hi fuel average a rahi hai ... aor phir ye kaisay pata chalay ga k har bar reserve light on honay k baad ap ne same distance hi travel kiya hai petrol pump tak janay k liye ... i mean kabhi 1 km travel kiya to ho sakta hai next time 500 meter ya 1.5 km travel karna par gya ho reserve light k baad....

waise bhi reserve per ziada dair car chalanay se fuel pump jaldi kharab ho jata hai kyon k petrol tank ka sara kachra khench leta hai fuel filter : /

You have approx 10 liters in reserve, if you have a tank capacity of 45 L (excluding reserve). The best way to check fuel consumption is to fill the tank completely, run a whole cycle and upon the next fill, see your odo for distance travelled and divide by how many liters are filled.

and that range is of full tank including reserve or just the fuel above reserve.

Your fuel in reserve is excluded from any calculation as it is considered as an emergency surplus. Fill up the car when you see the reserve light come on, next fill up would be at the same time. Also, did you try resetting the average calculator on your dash?

I just filled up the tank, when the reserve light came, and filled 29 liters on auto.
Whats the total fuel tank capacity with reserve and without?

I've also had very good experience with used cars, actually it;s my first time with honda.

Honda doesn't need a lot of maintenance if kept well under care and one hand, people tent to abuse these cars before selling it and worst of it is neglect.

If you have the user manual go through the preventive maintenance schedule and keep an eye on fluids (replace if needed)

Your car has a 42 liter tank (excluding reserve) and 8 liters in reserve, for a total of 50 liters capacity. Your reserve light should not come on at 29 liters empty.

The company says 42L and I know it has a 7-8L reserve. It could be 42L + 8L, OR 42L - 8L. You will have to try that out yourself.

I have a honda city 2014 model identical to yours.
I fill my tank when the car is on reserve.
It takes 32 liters to completly fill the tank on Auto.
Dont worry about fuel Average.
Fill your tank Auto.
Drive your car normally.
Check your car fuel average on next fillup.
Dont waste money on anything yet.
Max you will get is 11-13 manual gear with AC in city like lahore in short runs.
And on long you might get 16-18 manual gear at 110km/hr.
