City 1.3 vs 1.5 (Automatic) Fuel Economy

Hello, I am planning to buy Honda City (Automatic) 2012/13/14

I am confused which one to get 1.3 or 1.5. Which one has better fuel economy?

I am using it for more than a year now. On long motorrways getting 18-20 average and in city 13-15 fuel averages.

In Honda City, if going for automatic, go only for 1.5L
You won't regret
1.3L Prosmatic lags a lot.

Not agreed. 1.3 prosmatec in fantastic in terms of response. The only thing you need to make sure is your car should be well maintained

In MT 1.3, no maintenance required and you're good to go
P.S: 1.3L MT is responsive, fuel economical
1.3 PT is an auto car with a sluggish response
1.5 PT is best in auto
1.5 MT is powerful and most responsive of all Cities

My 2013 1.3 AT city was a pain to drive, It was sluggish and thirsty, It was well maintained with right choice of fluids and fuel from best pumps. Sold it after 6 months. Bought at Manual Civic and surprisingly it had very good fuel economy. TBH, I don't like prosmatec transmission at all. Manual Honda's are fun to drive and great fuel economy as well.

only difference is corolla 1.3 does not give underpowered feel in low revs like city does

Seems like you havent driven 1.5! Its class apart, speaking from experience.

Gli is the most underpowered car in local market, even alto feels lighter when driving. Please everyone do yourself a favor and get city if your going for a 1300 car, the only thing you'll sacrifice is hard suspension and lighter body. But everything else will be better in city unless you have to go to villages roads often. (I have driven only Mt of both, cannot comment on At varients)

How much average you were getting in 1.3 city?

1.3 only if its manual. Auto 1.3 is like a donkey cart
1.5 auto is good too

In city around 9.5 to 11.5 depending upon congestion. On motorway, around 14.5 at 110. At 120 It used to drop to around 13.5. Manual Civic on local was always around 12.5 and on Motorway @120 15km/l.

Not sure what was the issue with your city. I am getting 14-16 average in city. And I also got 20 average on motorway while driving from Islamabad to Multan at 120 speed. But usually it gives me around 17-18 on motorways.......

im not sure, but i have heard that 1.5 auto has strange gear ratios, even shorter than 1.3, keeps the RPM on higher band as compared to 1.3 on the same speed
