Salam
I have written about this before but here are my few cents,
I have a friend who bought an Oshan X7 (pre facelift) back in march this year and his younger brother has a Jolion. I have driven both vehicles extensively.
The facelift version comes with different set of alloys, some cosmetic changes to the front grill, interior changes include new trim colour, improvements to the infotainment system (bigger screen and android auto) and very important update which is provision of grab handles for front passenger which is just essential. The pre-facelift version does not have the handles and it’s very frustrating for the front passenger.
Oshan X7 is very torqy and an absolute pleasure to drive. The steering is only tilt adjustable. There are no blind spot monitors and the back and side cameras are not that good (at least not in the pre-facelift version). The infotainment system has been improved (bigger screen and android auto option added) but there is no wireless charging. There is no auto-diming rearview mirror. The interior used to be white which was prone to getting stains and dust marks easily but it’s been updated to tan I think. The front seats are ventilated and heated and adaptive cruise control works flawlessly (best feature honestly). Both front seats are power adjustable. The car seems very planted even on high speeds (I took it to 180+ without any issues and drove it in this speed bracket for quite a while 🫣, Mansehra to Lahore in around 4 hours with 30 min stay in Bhera) and the engine is very responsive with 0-100 km/hr time around 8 secs. X7 also has more ground clearance and a bigger boot compared to Jolion. Changan gives extended warranty on engine and gearbox and I have written about the 1k service inspection experience in the Oshan X7 fanclub thread. Headlamp throw is very subpar for x7 and that is the Achille’s heal. There is a nice cutoff and they are power adjustable but the intensity is just really bad.
Jolion has better headlamps and probably has rain sensing wipers as well. Both have rear wipers but Jolion also has a washer while x7 doesn't have that.
Jolion has more features like lane keep assist, speed limit monitoring, HUD (heads-up display). Jolion also has a better infotainment screen. The cameras that come with the car are HD cams and 360 camera is a lot better than X7. The Blindspot monitor works wonderfully well. But the tailgate is not power-operated like the X7. It also has less bhp and torque. The brakes are just too sensitive and the auto hold makes one a bit nervous as the car moves abruptly and not gently like the Oshan once the gas padel is pressed.
The AC performance in both vehicle is good. Jolion has duel zone auto adjustable climate control while X7 has single zone auto temperature adjusting climate control. The Jolion comes with wireless charging and Apple car play and android auto. X7 facelift has android auto available now.
Both brothers drive their vehicles on regular fuel. The Oshan is giving and average or between 10-12km/l at the moment. In sports mode it comes down to 8 but the sports mode on Oshan is actually beast mode. The Jolion on the other hand gives 11-12 km/l in comfort mode. It also has a sports mode which is quite good as well and average drops to around 10/l. Oshan has better ride quality compared to Jolion but that is a bit subjective I guess.
Oshan oil change interval is 10k and me and my friend did the maths and turns out the costs incurred at this interval is less compared to costs at intervals of 5k which maybe the case in many other vehicles.
Personally, I would take the Oshan because of the engine response and torque. In my view it is even better than civic RS. But night driving on motorways is where it disappointed me. The adaptive cruise works great. You put the cruise on at 150 and let it fly. It will do its thing. I also tested the hill descent assist while coming down from Babusar top towards Chillas and it worked flawless.
Both Jolion and Oshan are amazing vehicles and If you are considering a crossover in the 8.0 to 9.0 million bracket then I totally recommend both. Take a test drive and trust me it’s a win win in both situations.
