Check List For a New Car Delivery

I booked Cultus VXR 15 days before and today i got call from the dealer that my car has arrived (very strange, because at the time of booking he gave me 2 months time, i did not even receive the letter from company and my car arrive, the only reason i "developed" to satisfy myself is, with DD there was a letter from ICI requesting for quick delivery, did it prove that much effective? )
Planning to take delivery on tue or wed, please guide me what items should i check while taking delivery, i have used the search option and got some on that but need more input.

chek if ur car is not damaged frm outside and repainted becuz alot of accidents happen when they unload the cars from da truck!!!

make sure your toolkit is complete and all parts are fitting straight to the body.

Make sure there is nothing that doesn't work and that you get all the parts you can from the dealer (like free mats etc). make sure you don't forget to try the heater/AC etc... and that none of the stitching of the seats is frayed. rest should be covered under warranty.

if anyting is not up to your satisfaction, i suggest you reject the car and speak to the manager about either fixing or replacing the item with a new part. If you accept the car as it is and take it out of the showroom you'll never get anything fixed after that.

Oh yeah make sure you have a bonnet strut and that the wiper water nozzels & pump work.

They Dont Give Mud Flaps With The Car. Do Try To Fetch Them For Free..
Check The Hooks.. The Cover Above The Seat Belts.. And The Nuts..
Plus Do Check If The Fuel COver closes Properly Or Not..
The Distance Between Two Doors.

Many thanks for all of you, espically PUNK, because he visited this thread on my request. i have made a check list please see and suggest addition or delition (if any).i source is Pakwheelers suggestions and some search from pak wheels site as well.

From the list it looks i am not going to take the delivery of a new car it looks as i am going to make my own car

Checklist For a New Car Delivery (Cultus).

Engine

1. Seals and no oil leakages.
2. Coolant in the radiator & rust presence
3. Engine oil (fresh)
4. Brake oil level
5. A/c make (sanden or denso) denso doesn't pushes engine too much (u wont feel the jerk while turning on/off ac during drive while sanden makes sure u do)
6. Open hood check for cng kit fitting
7. Gear oil Level, Check Gear oil stick close properly
8. Check for any leakages
9. Check presence of bonnet strut (iron rod to hold the bonnet)
10. Check rubber pads in the bonnets, rubber seals in bonnet, and back
11. Wires should be properly tightened
12. Electrical joints
13. Battery connectors
14. Radiator Fan fitting

Exterior

1. Check all lights are working or not
2. Any Rust, Inside wheel arches, inside door clamps, hidden places,
3. All door locks + child locks
4. Check car body, pillars, roof under good light for any scratches, repaints, rough surfaces etc
5. Check electricals
6. Open and close all doors, hood, trunk and check for anything loose
7. Check the car glasses for any scratches
8. Check the front and the back bumpers., check there are properly tighten or just hanged
9. Park it on deck and see below, check the rubber pies, and check their quality, check for the cracks.
10. Check the fittings of side door mirrors
11. Check the color in full lights,
12. Check for the tilted chassis
13. Check All four tires, should be of same size and brand,
14. Tires should look new,
15. Both door mirrors, check their mechanism, quality of Glass, Both should be of same color
16. Side moldings, (properly pasted)
17. Check the shock absorbers, and spring coils, count spring coil circles, must be same on both side
18. Wiper water nozzles & pump work
19. Wipers (new or worn out)
20. Try to get mud flaps, if insists some time they give it free.
21. Do Check If The Fuel Cover closes Properly Or Not..
22. The Distance Between Two Doors. (Alignment of two doors where they connected to chassis)

Interior

1. Check if the car is started on the first self
2. Check RPMs are stable
3. Car mats, Seat Covers, Toolkit, (check all the tools are present in tool kit)
4. All door windows fittings, pull all windows down and than up again and check the mechanism
5. Use everything of the car within the showroom (Horn, Wiper, Lights, Sound, CNG-switch, Fan Speeds, A/C, Parking Light, Full Light, Dimmer, Indicators, Hazards, Dash Board Lights, Compartment Light, Heater, Ash Try,
6. Start the car and check engine noise
7. Test AC and Defogger
8. In the trunk, check toolkit, check cng cylinder fitting
9. Check Spare Wheel, its rim,
10. Cng and petrol filling point
11. In the dash, check for anything loose by knocking Dash board
12. Play radio/cassette etc, open glove box
13. Check out fuel and temp gauges
14. Start the car couple of time on petrol
15. Check the stitching of the seats it should not be frayed.
16. Check The Hooks. The Cover Above The Seat Belts. And The Nuts.
17. Check cabin light.

General

1. Check any sound affects while driving, take a test drive
2. Paper work.... see your name is printed correctly
3. NIC is fine and rest the books are given and papers
4. Gate pass (paper with the name of original owner
5. Warranty card (u might get it a week later)
6. Make sure that all the screws are tied in max
7. Try to get Free mats from the dealer,

I thought no one would be interested so i did not up date. thanks for the interest.W
well i got the delivery of my cultus, MashahAllah its fine. The PDI guys were astonished to see two pages with the heading of "check list" and later become irritated but i had nothing to do with that. Couple of things were wrong which corrected on the spot. clips of air filter box were broken, plastic covers of seat belts cracked, Driving door was not closing properly (one have to shut it with a little force) , rear bumper lining adjustment from right side, fresh air open close was not working. cng switch was not working properly, All these corrected on the spot,, driving door still has some problem, will get it done on 1000 km check.

In short check list helped me a lot to do my own PDI :). even two other boys were at khalid motors to get their cultus delivery, they also requested for the list. And there comments were "this is the right way to get delivery of pak suzuki made car"

Immediate additions were Bridgestone Potenza GIII rotational tires cost 2900 each at khan tires, than steel mate security lock, although i snatched Suzuki mats from dealer, but went for another one (two layers will save the original carpet from dust), seat covers, and other stuff. now remaining things are arm rest box for driver, Wheel balancing and alignment, Royal shield polish, etc etc (no mp3 or CD player as non of my family member is found of that including me) will do it step by step as i get time, busy now a days , my Signature says all.
