Charade Diesel with high fuel consumption and excessive smoke

It's Daihatsu Charade with original CL50 Diesel Turbo engine, using it for short local trips. The engine sounds little bit louder, cold starting is very good but here're some problems need to be fixed asap:

1: High Fuel consumption ; it's like 10 km/ Liter which is even higher than a petrol engine Charade which can deliver 13 km/L + in city. Driving style is very economical, never drove it at high RPM, put it into neutral well before a red signal or approaching traffic jam etc and also driving it alone or just with one passenger and no heavy luggage in the car. This car should give at least 18 km/L + economy with this fuel saver driving style. Checked it twice, once filled 5 liters and it stalled after doing 52 kilometers. Then filled up 10 liters diesel thinking that 5 was too less and the result wasn't any different, it barely ran 109 kilometers before running out of fuel again.

2: There's no thick black smoke at normal RPM but it emits crazy smoke at high RPM, even more than an old Fiat tractor. This may also be linked to high fuel consumption as well

3: And finally, warm starting is also not good, need to wait for the glow plug lights to go off before cranking the engine or it will take too long to start. This happens even if you turn off the warm engine just for 5 minutes. Warm starting without waiting for glow plugs is even worse than cold starting.

What seems to be wrong with this engine? We are not taking this car to race track or even to a hill station. It's just an urban daily runner and all we want is to make it reasonably fuel efficient and reduce black smoke at high revs.

Diesel car owners in Rawalpindi are also requested to suggest an expert and honest diesel engine mechanic as well as how much it may cost to fix these issues. Thank you!

Thanks for replying but G-12 is too far from Rawalpindi city. Anyway how much do you normally charge to fix the pump and injectors of this type of small diesel engine?

Lolzzzzz @ too far...i am keeping 2 cars since last 14 years and even for an oil change i travel from attock to islamabad as mental satisfaction is the prime priority. Infact the charade owner absolutely dont want any practical solution. He wants to waste time of others and get his car fixed online. Pmease someone help him.

Mainly because Charade is a beater car, we fix it only when it won't run lolz

dont try to fix that pump ,,,,,, none of our diesel labs are capable to rebuilt that pump as per original specs,,,, and then calibrate it as per original specs,,,,,,, no way any one can do that here ,,,,,,, find the exact part number of that particular pump used in your engine and search for it in old parts shop ,,,,,, same pump used in many engines but with different fuel delivery setting and different part number,,,,, for example same pump is been used in 1C and 2C engine but they both leave factory with different part numbers and with different fuel delivery settings ,,,,,,, so part number is very important and also before buy check the seal on max fuel delivery setting screw ,,, if its tamper then leave it ,,,,,,,

waris shah diesel lab in gawalmandi rwp ,,,,,, i have personally observe and seen them working on VE pumps ,,,,,,, they dont have proper tools and skills to properly rebuilt it ,,,, even lack shim measuring tool ,,,,,,, no way they can do this job ,,,,,, but still i must say they are "andhoo me kahna raja"

Does cleaning nozzles improves fuel economy other than reducing smoke?
And is it possible to find a genuine pump anywhere in Rawalpindi? Finding genuine parts of Daihatsu CL diesel and even CB petrol engines is not easy.
