how u know it has a bad crank shaft sensor

i dont think that in civic 97 a crank shaft senor is there in civic 97

Check it, im very much possitive, The CNG advancer advances the timing off the car hence kills it.

The sensor gets hot, Check light on, your car dies.

It doesnt restarts till the sensor gets cooled down. As the sensor cools, ur car restarts on a single self.

Get it checked before u spend on other things, and also kill a battery too.

yes it restarts sometime but sometime restarts again and agian

so what should i changed as i disconnected the STAP of my civic and it has a emulator .

but plz chinyoti brother help me.

It would be much more helpful to diagnose the cars ECU from the honda dealership to know whats this CEL comes for and then u may let working on ur car from any workshop.

you need to check it, first. Im not realy sure if it comes in the OBD scanner that its faulty or not. Maybe the gurus would help.

But check with your mechanic. And ask him disucss the issue. See whats the price of the sensor, was rs2100 (brand new) (in my case Baleno).

A guy tried to cheat me, givign a used one for 4000. On checking with the scrap parts dealer it was Rs.1300, Checked brand new it was 2100, decided to go for a new one. Never happened again.

he meant to check y CEL (check engine light comes ) On

how i can check it only happens when car shuts off
and when i strip out the key and then again start it work like charm.

Once or whenever the CEL pops up, it will remains in the memory of the ECU. No matter u switch of the car until u flash the ECU. Go to honda they have OBD tools, they will hook up their PC with ur car ECU and tells u when when ur CEL came and for which sensor. This way its quite easy to work on the car, and when u know the actual culprit then u can go to any workshop and do the rest of work if u feel dealership is expensive.

I am encountering a similar kind of problem in my Mehran 2004. The car starts up normally, driving is smooth, everything works fine until at times...when the engine is running idle (when car is not moving or waiting at a signal), suddenly there is some vibration from front and car turns off!! It could be started with ease after that but all this repeates itself whenever car decelerates or is not moving.

What do you suggest what could be the problem?

yar when it stalls check the horn and lights. if lights dim or the horn gives a very low sound it is a bad battery. this just happened to me a few days back

Very Very Informative Post Brother !!!

Check out engine main relay under the deshboard.I have same problem with my civic 97 i replaced main relay & issue resolved.

though the thread os old but for other help I should mention that this kind of issue can be resolved in Civic from 2001-above by replacing CKP and TDC sensors. I am not sure about earlier civics.

both the crankshaft and camshaft position sensors in that model are inside the distributor.

The later models with DLI had them bolted outside the engine with the tone wheels on the crank and cam pulleys.
