Car jerk after changing CVT Transmission Oil

Hi Guys, 5 days ego i moved to toyota local dealer for inspecting my transmission oil. After inspecting they suggested to change the transmission oil and they said as the oil condition is good only 4 liter will be enough. Then they drain out and putting 4 liter New toyota CVTF FE Transmission oil and done the calibration after changing the oil.

Now the issue is that whenever i shift my gear from Neutral to Reverse or Neutral to Drive or vice versa, the car having a jerk. During acceleration in drive mode there is no jerk or vibration. My Card model is Toyota Allion, manufacture year is 2014 december.

Can you please suggest/advice me what causing the issue of jerk or vibration during gear shift.

What type of calibration they did after changing oil. Did they open cvt oil pan of your car as well?
How did they calculate that you need 4L and the total that came out was 4L?

i brought them in Navana limited, authorized dealer/distributor of Toyota in Bangladesh. Initially they drop/drain oil (not sure how they measure it was drain out 4L) and put new 4L oil in car. Then wait for another 2-3 hours and make the vehicle cool. After that connecting the laptop, see the temperature reached to below 40 degree Celsius (at that time it was 39.3)and start the calibration. Someone below car was looking when the oil drop are stopping during calibration.

CVT oil PAN/Filter they didn't removed. I am not an expert on this, hence unable to gave too much information.

After seeing/inspecting the oil, they said the oil condition is not so bad (not dark color), so engineer suggest me 4L is enough to do the job.

Perfect! just A perfect way to change cvt oil.
That's not calibration, they were dropping temperature to level the oil in your transmission.
Please go to the dealership ask them to reset ecu or do calibration of cvt with the help of toyota techstream, reset all cvt values. This will resolve the issue of jerks that you're having. You have to reset values of cvt and make them re-learn those values. Once they reset it just drive car normally at different rpms for 5-10 minutes only. Do not accelerate hard.

Doesn't matter as they leveled oil at optimum point after changing. They must have given you the remaining oil can. Oil needed in this method is around 2.4-2.8L only.

Someone below car was looking when the oil drop are stopping during calibration.

At this point drain nut is opened to check oil level.
If more oil comes then its overfilled.
If few drops then oil is at normal level.
If nothing comes out then underfill.

Cvt oil expands at high temperature so its necessary to check oil level between 35-45 degrees.

Change cvt oil at 55000kms or 2 years whichever comes first, and oil will remain in the perfect form.

Thanks for your detail advice. Actually they have charged me separately for calibration. On that day they have connect toyota software through laptop and shift to various gear (dashboard lights are also flash I.e. engine light )and told me this are calibration which they are doing. Next day I go there and told them regarding the jerk. They again connect the laptop and software, said oil pressure and other values are perfect. After that They said may be due to new oil and old oil mix it was happening. Advice me to Run the vehicle for one week and they hope this will be solve. Answer was not so satisfying but I had no option.
Please note that during the process they have empty the full cvt oil can which is 4liter. Sorry I was writing so many thing due to little concern of Transmission wear not happend due to this.

Hi @haseeb.basharat, Should i ask the dealer to re-calibration ? should new oil need to put freshly to do the re-calibration? As i said, last time they put full 4L can oil in vehicle.They gave me empty can.

Should i require to flush all the oil by open the CVT oil PAN, in such case how much oil will be required ?

if they have already changed the CVT Fluid no need to reflush / change. Dealership shall scan & re-calibrate the values. That will kill the shock you are experiencing.

@haseeb.basharat: today I went to the dealer. Initially they said to overcome the issue of jerk I have to change the gear box. After that I inform the situation to their GM then he asked the engineer to recheck. Then he agreed to check the oil level and recalibrate. After checking the oil level they drain out lot of oil (A Pan of oil)and done the recalibrate. I asked them why so much oil they drain out if the oil level is ok (as mentioned earlier). They try to avoid to answer the question and start saying other functionality like the jerk may be earlier but I unable to notice, somitime it happen. Now I required a suggestion, is the jerk will cause the CVT wear or demage? Should I need to visit other workshop for remedy?

If the jerks are at minimal now then you are good to go.
Nothing happens in so much less time period. Keep on driving your car. If your issue is resolved then you don't need to visit any workshop at all. What was the temperature of cvt when they recheck oil level?

37 celcius. Ok. Lets drive for a month. Finger crossed. The jerk happen when the gear shift slowly but if I shift the gear quickly then jerk cann't be feel so much.

@haseeb.basharat, Today i diagnosis through the ODO scanner in different workshop and receive the following error:

Engine: P2109 Throttle/Pedal Position Sensor 'A' Minimum Stop Performance.
Air Conditioner: B1421 Solar Sensor Circuit (Passenger Side)
Main Body: B1206 Power Window Master SW ECU Communication Stop

They said Throttle need to replace and eliminate the error. Then only they can said about gear shift jerk causing issue.

I told them i will inform regarding the changing of Trottle later, preferably after EID Vacation.
