Can CNG kit be used for LPG?

Asslam o Alaikum,

Anyone please explain that , can we use CNG kits for LPG if yes then do we need to alter something? Please Explain in detail in both Yes or No case.

No
CNG requires pressure around 200bar while LPG is a low pressure gas
so the same kit cant be used

auto raksha walay use cng & lpg both on single kit
they only change cylender
& also change kit adjustment
i once saw a riksha wala during cng loadshading more details idont knows

it can be used, I have used it in alto and civic oriel, only adjustment of gas needs to be made and u can even use the cng cylinder in it. but its good to change to lpg cylinder as it is very light weight. and amazingly pick is very very high on lpg even good than petrol. only problem in lpg is that when u r moving very fast than the pressure in cylinder suddenntly decreases and freezing occurs. This is the only problem.

i think it can be done. but u need to increase the flow from the kit to the engine.

the volume of the chambers should be somehow increased. otherwise it will go like this: low pressure gas will occupy the same space in the chamber(s) of the regulator as that of CNG, and when the regulator will allow the gas to expand (or in other words decrease the pressure), the resulting volume of the gas obtained through one pass in same amount of time would be lesser as that of CNG.
or if the regulator can act much quicker then flow rate can increase.

but then lesser volume of LPG is required per volume of oxygen than that of CNG at same conditions of pressure n temp for combustion. so its quite possible. just a little increase of flow rate or adjustment... just my thots.

actually LPG has less pressure and can be filled in CNG cylinder as CNG cylinder can also bear less pressure but the cylinder used for LPG are lightweight as they don,t need a tough one cylinder so less weight in car give u a bit better pick and bit better milage so better to go for LPG cylinder

and timing needs to be altered as well. the advance should be disabled, reprogramed if it can be or replaced with one for LPG. but i think LPG would required retarded timing.

its going to be an alternate option. price would be close to the internation rates and therefore cheaper than that of petrol. CNG would remain there. availability would remain the same it is now or further decrease. but it would remain there n it ll be cheaper than LPG.

Yes, LPG kit is cheaper than CNG one and LPG cylinder is a lot more cheaper than CNG cylinder!

I have suzuki cultus 2006 model factory fitted CNG. Sir CNG cylinder and kit are not suitable for LPG. Recently i installed LPG in the car it costs only 8000. And car is running 20+ km/kg of LPG. the pick is really enormous but i would say that its better then the petrol. The fitting is like older one, Like on every filling i have to put the cylinder out of vehicle. Now i can run my vehicle on CNG (if available), on LPG and also on petrol. only problem in LPG is that when you are moving fast then the pressure in cylinder decreases and freezing occurs then i have to convert to other fuel till it melts.

Which lpg kit and cylinder u got in 8000/- . I guess u got cylinder which used for home? Otherwise proper kit and cylinder cost is 200000/- pulse explain. Thanks
