This may seem like a stupid question. But there's a story behind this question I would like to share with you all. I'm a 21 year old business student from Model Town Lahore. Me and my gf had just given a final and it went terrible. Lol. We were really hungry and grabbed burgers from JJ in Dha. JJ is more like a take away fast food spot so u have to eat in the car. We were parked near the park. Peaceful place. Eating. Listening song. Minding our own business. And suddenly there's a police guy flashing his torch from a small Nokia type phone on us. It was really weird. Because it wasn't even that dark and he was flashing it on me. And I was literally looking at him. For a moment I thought he was a thug and wanted to snatch our phones etc. I rolled down my window and asked him what happened. He asked me to follow him under the shade of a tree. It was a dark spot. Really dark. There were a total of 3 policemen. On two bikes. And they had ak47 type guns on their backs. It was really confusing because till then I had the concept that policemen caught criminals. Actual criminals. Whatever I write in quotation is exactly what he said. His exact words. Imprinted on my mind. He asked me for my ID card. I gave it to him. He took out a notebook and wrote my details. Mobile number. Fathers details. Asked me what did he do etc. "Pyaray Bhai yahan na pechlay dino aik Mna ki beti ka murder hoa ha, gari mein. Ab koi aesay pher nahi sakta. Ham gari bula rhay han. Police station larki bethay gi. Jab tak uss ke abu a ke ham se baat nahi krtay" . I asked him to talk to my dad and just ask him whatever he wanted. He refused. He insisted it was the girls parents they wanted to meet in the police station. Then he goes. "Model Town mein tou kanal se chota koi ghar nahi na hota. Saray ameer log rehtay han wahan, Pechlay dino aik gari pakri ham ne, uss mein larki ki thori ci shalwar utari hoi thi. Ham ne tou thanay ja ke rola hi dya ussko. Ansooun se ro rahi thi keh janay do, zamanton mein tou 10 10 hazar lag zatay han" i dont know what zamantay means. But then i sensed he was talking money lol. I literally had to bargain with him down to 3k. He said u should leave immediately or the dha security car will ask questions from you now etc etc. I had to return home with an unfinished burger. .....i asked some lawyer friends of mine. Well most of them r studying UK law in Pakistan . Da. f. One being local lawyer. But still a student, told me that they cannot do anything if the girl is with you ,on her own free will. If any professional lawyers ever get to read this. Please do reply below. That what does our law say? How could i have fought back. On legal grounds. ? Police is a law. An authority. Can they seriously accuse us of anything like This? They have no proof. Does their word stand? Even if it's simply a lie. I'm sure their would be a lot of people who would have experienced a similar situation. Gonna keep my identity anon.

This is a common occurence in Pakistan, and unfortunately, the Police personnel mis-use their authority. They were trying to blackmail you, though the girl and her parents.
Simply ask the police personnel for their names and badge numbers, and give them the money so that atleast you are safe. You can take this up with higher police personnel - and it would be better if you know someone.
I am not a a lawyer, but the police have a lot of leeway.... but a lawyer can guide you better.

Avoid going to shady or badly lit places where someone would suspect you of some "unethical activities". If a group of policemen stop you, there hardly anything you can do other than give some money and settle it then and there.

Despite acting like the most pious nation on earth, GF/BF culture is getting very common in Pakistan involving all classes. And those relationship are to the full extent. Thing is we have adopted the worst form of it, in western countries everyone knows who is in a relationship and has a BF/GF so that person in relation doesn't get into another relation unless he/she breaks up current relation, in Pakistan a girl can have 5 BFs and the guy can do the same and no one knows about it, it all goes secretly.

They cannot stop and question you if the girl is with you by her will married unmarried doesnt matter. The max they can do is frisk you and search the car. Thats totally it.

Pakistanio ko hr kisi ka Mama bn ne ka wese hi bht shauk hai so Policemen arnt an exception to this.

Since unmarried couples get scared especially the girl of the news getting to parents, this gives ground to policemen to exploit.

Next time they stop you, be confident, talk politely and call 15 to tell the operator the badge numbers and names of the bastards and they will shit their pants.

Police didn’t have any legal ground.

This was just predator and prey act. They find someone in compromising situation and they prey upon them.

Waisay there are always so many vehicles parked in front of Johnny and Jugnu, why you guys didn’t eat there... why you had to pick a dark corner by the park.

Being resident of DHA and security situation of the country it causes concern to residents when they see unknown cars parked around their houses in dark.

I know hormones are raging at this age but as they say Muhabbat Andhi hoti hai neighbors andhay nahi hotay, Khayal rakhain.

Theycant do anything...its all the game of confidence...if they feel you being nervous they eill make their game over you and you will get scared
It all starts when they approch you and the way you greet them

Yes that's why we didn't eat there. Because their parking was already full. And then there's the masjid parking where you are not allowed to park the car unless u have to go inside.
I was literally on the side of the road. There were 4 other cars next to mine. They were all JJ customers too. Eating in car. So it wasn't an isolated spot or anything.

Bad luck mate, even if you pursue for action against the culprits you wont be successful. Its gone and done now.

Resentment in police and other people in security staff of dha is high against the residents. Unless they are dealt with high hand and confidence they will try to walk over you.

Few years back police stole my 5 months old pup while roaming in their patrol vehicle. I was informed of incident by chowkidar of neighbors and I found the pup tied in back yard of dha police station A. Still i could not lodge a complaint against duty policemen. Thats how rotten this system is.

It's not only Punjab police. Islamabad police have stopped me three times with my wife and every time they asked me silly questions which simply made the whole situation worse.

Whether you were doing zina or not is your personal matter and no should have a problem as long as its consensual. The reason we are losing our values and everything with it is because we have self imposed these taboos and not really focusing on what we really need to do to help make things better.

Situation is such that its easy to make a girlfriend than to marry one. Parents are either sleeping or put a blind eye on the activities of their daughter, they only wake up when the boyfriend approaches to marry her. Then they take out the book of what they want in their son-in-law.

Recently, I with my family went to see a girl at their home. Girl's father didn't let me see his obese daughter pretending the man of some kind of self-proclaimed values. I searched the name of girl on facebook and found many of her pictures without dupatta. That's the kind of hypocrisy that's drowning us as a nation. So the girls find it easy in such environment to make a boyfriend temporarily while her pious family find a match for her.

The ones who have GF/BF think what they are doing is completely normal and okay, then they should also be okay with letting the girl's / boy's parents know that they are dating their daughter/son. But, if you think it is NOT okay to let the parent's know, then don't you think there's something fishy which should not have been done ?

AND i think this "fishy" part is the one that makes the policemen stand on the grounds what they usually stand on in such situations, as in OP's case police also kinda took benefit of the situation and threatened OP to call the girl's parents about this whole situation which made him pay to the policemen.
