Asalam o alaikum everyone.Months ago, I got my hands on a Mazda RX8 2005. The car was swapped with a 2JZGTE by the previous owner but I bought the car without any engine under the hood. It was parked in a plot for months and the owner wasn't willing to sell it but after 2 months of procrastination, I finally got my hands on it. The car was and still is in a pretty bad condition, the last owner had the car showered in matte blue, then matte pink and currently the car is showered in matte yellow whereas the original colour of the car is titanium grey. I finally got myself a pretty decent deal for a 1JZGE as I'm not pretty fond of turbos due to their high maintenance costs. Why I didn't go for another engine? The car's engine bay was already altered for the 2JZ so 1JZ sits in without any further alterations, the setup I've bought is with a W58 5 speed forward gearbox. According to the engine seller, the engine is pushing around 205 horses but its not confirmed, therefore, the engine arrives in 3 days & the car will be handed over to a renown workshop for the fitting. Stay tuned everyone! The picture with the BMW is from the plot the car was parked at.
That e30 is yours? Man i wish i wasn't a broke college student so i could get my hands on one.
No bro, that E30 belonged to the guy I bought the RX8 from, this was an original M3 coupe on papers. but the car got into the wrong hands, he swapped it with a BEAMS engine, totally ruined the car.

Thanks!
sanity got doomed 6 feet under.
Oh. Such a shame. Best of luck with your project. Keep us posted. Btw why don't you consider a rotary. Yes they are harder to maintain but putting a non rotary into a rx car destroys the soul of the car according to me. That high revving sound is to die for. Saw a video on yt recently where a guys stock rx8 revved to 10300rpms.It's your car but do consider it.
Its gonna be a hard job to put a rotary back as lots of alterations are done to fit a jz engine and specifically 2jz
I would love to get the rotary back but the engine bay has been altered accordingly for a 2JZ and I had a very limited number of options left for the new engine, therefore, 1JZ was the only engine I could go for.
Exactly my point.
I'm sure you're talking about the previous owner's treatment with these cars.
My previous project was a Daihatsu Charade 1989, my friend, more like a brother, @ranahamza89 was restoring his Charade & I assisted him with the entire job. This was back in 2016-17, here's the link of that thread.
Yes obviously. Clarifying my comment by associating it with the swap done be previous owner in e30.
There are many beauties ruined by people who do not know how to preserve them for the coming generations to witness. We have a rare number of such cars in our country but sadly people are giving them away in wrong hands.
A great chunk of our enthusiasts are just fond of badge, not the prestige, beauty and driving pleasure it carries.
Indeed bro
I bought the engine from HariPur through an ad on pakwheels & it's finally arriving tomorrow. The guy had it swapped on his Corolla KE35 (coupe) but the car was getting out of his control due to the uneven engine to body ratio. Anyway, here are some pictures of the engine in his car, out of his car and then in the pickup, on it's way to it's new home.
You guys can add me on Snapchat & Instagram too for live updates of the project. My username on both the apps is ABDULMUNIMQADRI
1jz without turbo is a very wise decision.
Since these engines are old turbo is always the culprit.
Best of luck looking forward !
Any chance of restoring the original color??
Yes bro, I want to keep it NA as I've had trouble with turbos earlier & one of the reasons the last engine blew was due to the turbo. So I don't want to risk it, can't put my money & time on stakes for the sake of more power & fun. Btw I'm not going for the original colour, I'm aiming to make the car different, Insha'Allah will be one of its kind in the country. So restoring the original colour isn't an option.
