Best Wifi Extender

Hello Pakwheelers,

In April 2019 I got my ISP changed to Stormfiber but the issue i am facing is that a room which is about 12 feet away from the router the network struggles the bar shows full strength but the speed is super low. I was told by the ISP to install a Wi-Fi extender which will solve the problem the router i am using is of Huawei and the speed of my net is 10 MBPS.
Please Note That I am not a Tech guy so I really dont know anything rather then speed

I'm using xiaomi repeater 2 for last 2.5 years
Others I know are using xiaomi amplifier pro
Both are working great
So I can recommend these

Is the internet browsing fast when you are near the router? If it's slow there too then your ISP is providing a slow connection.

you can change the wifi channel, it will probably solve your problem.

log in to your router and try the different wireless channels, it may extend range if you select one with less interference

@mehran you are right, it's not related to wifi signal strength, as he has mentioned above that bar shows full strength, contact ISP regarding this,
repeater will be of no use

to rule out possibility that the internet is not good from back end, you can use any windows 10 laptop or pc as wifi repeater

yep the speed is the same in all rooms expect my room and i have checked it by ookla

did tried that and the problem was solved but after a week or so the problem occurred again

Same = good speed? The walls of your room are probably blocking the signal. It's the same at my home. I just use my mobile in the TV room. Very very poor signals in bedrooms but speed is still acceptable. However, signal strength and speed in TV room is the best.

In Windows 10
Go to settings
Network and internet
Mobile hotspot
Select primary source (whether it's ethernet or wifi) and turn it on
That's it

stormfiber ONU with Wifi is just okish ...not too great specially where high too much signal interference is

your best bet is to change channel settings from router

download app wifi analizer and look for traffic on channels....1 , 6 and 11... out of these 3 select the one with low no of usage

if this still dont solve then simply buy a TPLINK router (3 anteena )..connect it via ethernet to main router and make it access point......you need to get it setup by someone if you dont know how to....else couple of youtube tutorials can make it easy for you

avoid repeaters or extenders as their working is limited to this only...they are easy to setup but had limited usage

router can be used for multiple purpose and had better wifi stability as per my experience

range extender/wifi repeater, just connects with an existing router and incase of poor signal strength, improves it, and then you just connect your phone/laptop/devices with repeater
like this, (credits: xiaomi)

meanwhile access point connects to your router over Ethernet and communicates with your wifi devices over wireless connection.

range extender/repeater just boost (repeat) your previous wifi weak signals by re-broadcasting it increasing its signal strength/coverage ,, its placed midway where signbals start to weaken.

access point connects to main router via ethernet and broadcast the wifi with diff or same SSID....

the major diff being extender/repeater talks to main device wirelessly while access point connects to main router via wired connection..

def advantage is data connectivity via wired connection is always better than wireless with consistent speed and no data loss/drop
