Best Way to Move From Lahore to Islamabad and Back to Lahore

I am a frequent traveler between Lahore and Islamabad in 2013 i have travel almost 50 Times on different Vehicals including train. Now i want to share my all experiences for those who are new so they will avoid all those miserable things that i had.

Its a noble cause that we should spread our good practices and save some one from Trouble.

Mian things that should kept in mind while planning a tour between Lahore and Pindi.

1. Budget.
2. Time of traveling.
3. Time of Departure and Return.
4. Luxury Level.

Motorway Bus
If you have enough money then best one is Daewoo, Bilal Dawoo , Faisal Movers, Skyways
Expense one sided from 1300-900.
Time taken: 4:30-5:30 hours
Road Used: M2 Motorway

Train
There is no journey like Train there are three main Classes
Parlour (Seats are much better then Buses and Expense is almost 1000)
Lower AC (600)
Economy Best in its price just 340 and 440 for nOn Stop (Berth is available in just 50 Rs for those train which travel in nights only )

Time Taken
Non Stop 05:00 hrs
4-5 main Stops :06 hrs

GT Road

Never Ever try to use GT Roads specifically on the buses of Laree Ada and Peer Wadaee.

Coaster is better option.

for People traveling for Business purpose!!! there is one particular bus and driver of Niazi Bus service which leaves Lahore Daily at sharp 6:00AM and reaches Islamabad without any stop at around 9:15 - 9:30am and vice versa leaves Islamabad at around 3:00 pm (Not sure about departure time) and reaches Lahore in 3 hour and 30 Mints approx without any STOP!

One thing also matters here. Where are your destination and start of journey in either city to select a mode of journey. Like standing near railway station, better to try catching a train. Or near Daewoo Terminal better try to catch it rather going far to catch some other service.

Also select service, which drops you near your destination.

In Lahore:-

If you want to go to Gulburg/Kalma Chowk Lahore Daewoo is best.

If you want to go Multan Road, Yateem Khana side. better don't go via daewoo.

Faisal Movers in Lahore is running shuttle service, Kalma Chowk to Yateem Khana Terminal.

Also one thing, From G-7 Islamabad you take shuttle to daewoo terminal Pindi. Same from Main Terminal Pindi, you can take shuttle which can drop you at G10, G-9, Zero Point and G-7.

i also travel on all types of transport between this route but on gt road only on personal vehicle
bus takes 5 hours between this route
but my best travel companion is train
the time and stop you mention is of rail car that leave both rwp and lhr station at 4 30 pm has 4 to 5 stops and take 5 hours
but the rawal exp that departe both station at 12 30 am has 2 stops only and takes exact 4 hours but whenever i take ride on it it reaches its destination before time so they stop it outside station for up to 10 mins for its exact time .and this thing not happened just 1 or 2 time but every time i traveled in it in this year i traveled almost 10 times on this train
other train is non stop and departs both station 7 am in morning and return back 6 pm in evening and its fully nn stop no single stop and exactly takes 4 hours and they are one of the most sucessful trains of pr from the first day they introduce
rest the other mail trains usually takes 5 to 6 hours with 4 to 5 stops but for lhr rwp journy railcar service is best

If you have a car, and you are alone then with one stop you can reach Islamabad in 3:15 hrs. Averaging between 130-140 Km/h. Tested

I have stopped taking a break on Motorway Bhera, and at 120-130 Km average it takes around 3.5 hrs, door to door! Fastest possible, as the journey time from door to door is halved as compared to any bus!

For maintaining an avg of 120-130 Km/h, if you minus the city traveling part on both sides (Isb/LHR) and Kallar Kahar, you have to move at around 130-140 at motorway. Which makes you susceptible to getting a ticket for over-speeding...

Can any expert shed light on Faisalabad - Rawalpindi section. Have done that a few times by bus, from outside the train station. Objective: while traveling from Karachi to Northern Areas, I drop-off at Faisalabad, rather than going to Lahore, to continue to Rawalpindi.

Actually I'm very much interested if there is a train similar to Lahore-Rawalpindi ones mentioned above.
