Auction sheet of imported cars

For imported cars, if auction sheet is not available or verifiable due to any reason, does it effect on its resale price or any other factor to be considered while purchasing such car. Plz suggest/advise

There is only ONE MAIN REASON, as to why a JDM Import will NOT have an auction sheet.

The reason is that it was bought from a Salvage Yard, like TAU or Hanamaru.

Usually Major Accidental and bought at dirt cheap prices, sold with Polished Lies.

In short there is only ONE thing to do for a layman, NOT buy a car without a verifiable auction sheet.

You will waste your hard earned money if you buy something of which you dont know the exact condition of, car inspections DO NOT tell you the complete story, so dont fall for this trap.

Keh, "Sir Auction Sheet nahin aae thi saath, aap Car Inspection karwa laen sirf aik fender touch hae."

This is a very clever fraud, as car inspectors cannot usually detect failures in Hybrid systems or tell that the car is water damaged, I have seen that infront of my eyes too many times to recount.

But if you still buy such a car, well then, nothing can be said.

Problem with verifable auction sheet is that the inspectors at the auction yard are superficial inspectors.

Not having an auction sheet usually means its a write off, so its still much much better.

After verifying the auction sheet, then you can get a detailed inspection done, that usually makes it quite fail safe.

The detailed inspection is done by same guys. I have found very “interesting” faults in fresh landed cars.

Yes, even if car is used in Pakistan, I would need an auction sheet to buy the Japanese car. I simply pass on the ads which don't mention auction sheet.

I bought a fresh imported prado , and on tis auctionsheet its trunk was denoted by XX (means replaced in Japan), I got its inspection done from Pakwheels and their machine did not mark it as any repaint etc he said "gari full genuine ha bumper bhi" also the gentleman doing the inspection did not even know where the tire manufacturing date was on the tires as I had doubt and had to clear it myself

Plus my car had 4 auctionsheets from different auction houses (I guess it got auctioned 4 times ) within a few 100 kms difference , the dealer was in a whatsapp group and they pulled all of them on my request (I paid for 4 verifications)

Auction sheets are 98% cosmetic and only 2% in depth, that depth only is looked into if there was a displayed warning.

In the case of that evo, there was no warning lamp on, it started and did all its key checks.

The water entered through its breather vent, which was popped/cracked off.

So, my point is, just cosmetics dont tell whole story. The owner of that evo learned the hard way and had to shell out solid money to get it repaired like factory again. The water slurry had pitted the hard parts.

Yes, I agree, thats why I mentioned this above as well.

There is no "X-RAY" technique to check a vehicle in Pakistan.

But atleast if you spend 10-20K you will know 90% plus condition, atleast you didnt buy with your eyes closed.

There are car frauds in every country in the world, "Lemon Cars" exist globally.

Unfortuantely, Most Pakistanis Only care that "Garri Total Genuine Hae".

So being an importer I can tell you, if the car Passes Toyota or Pakwheels Inspection, and has a verifiable auction sheet.

In short, this is a never ending debate, but as they say,

"something is better than nothing" & "to each his own".
