Hello All

I need some help please. Recently I bought an Acson air conditioner split 1.5 tonnes.

It was cooling very well. In twenty minutes it would chill my room and also I could not sit in front of it for more than 10 minutes without switching it off as it was too cold.

The ac is only two weeks old and the compressor is 3 years warranty with one year parts and services.
How've bee two days ago the cooking went down slightly and my ac man checked it and said that the joint on the outer unit is loose and that there is a gas leak . His checking meter also only showed thirty pounds whereas last week it was 65 pounds.
However, he taped up the joint and refilled some gas.
My problem is that now my ac gas to be kept on for at least two hours to achieve the same chill that it used to in twenty minutes and it is still not the bone chilling cold. he said he has put American Honeywell gas but I have doubts or is that the original ac gas which came in the Acson ac was something even better than Honeywell?

Or is there some other problem? Please guide me should I show it to the shop or some other ac man? Gas issue or something. Else?

since it's under warranty you should get it checked under warranty, i have been using ascon for past two years and never had a single problem, it is the best damn AC i have ever bought.

Thank you for your response. The only issue is that leaks are not covered under warranty. My confusion is that even when the ac mans meter showed thirty pounds it was cooling bone chillingly well.

However, when he refilled the gas the cooling is not the same at all. Is it different gas, or some other issue? What gas comes in the ac from the factory ?

i can find out but for sure it's not the normal gas those AC wala's normally put in, leaks might not be covered under warranty but atleast shopwala might do it for sake of customer satisfaction while the AC wala might take you for "murgha" (if you know what i am saying).

Sharing a personal story on the subject, once we had an experience, one of our AC was out of gas, kept on calling our regular AC wala he didn't showed up, got another person and got it fixed, after a day or so the regular person shows up, without turning on the AC he puts a meter to the outer unit did some show shaw and said "sb iss mai gas khatam hai dobara dalni hu gi" i told him kai abhi i have to go tu will call you later ... that was the last time we asked to come over

thank you brother for the response the thing is that I know the ac guy very well who came.
But my issue here is that he did put the meter on and it had showed 30 before he put the gas in . Whereas last week was 65 unless it was a faulty meter like fruit walla with his doctored scales. After he put the gas it came to 65

If he used American gas and Acson ac also comes with American gas then how come the cooling is so different that's what I don't understand

i thnk he over filled the gas or maybe the gas itself is the culprit here

maybe it's overcharged or gas is low again. or may be the gas he charged was of bad quality. In case of R410a if 20% to 30% gas is leaked then better to evacuate the whole system and recharge again. In case R22 top up is fine. If gas is low again then fix the leak and top up the gas. Otherwise better to evacuate the system, make sure there is no leak, pull the vacuum and charge it again according to recommended weight of gas. 1.5 ton unit approximately take 1.5kg. R22 is available Rs 900/kg (US) and Rs 450/kg (china).

Thank you brother he said the joint connecting the outer unit to indoor unit enclosed in a rubber covering was loose when the installer installed. Hence he said he will tighten it and I saw his gas canister which had r22 written on it unless it had cheaper gas inside it which is why I can't understand why it did not work well

is your ac an r22 unit or r410?? r410 operates at significantly higher pressures. i hope the idiot ac wala didnt mix the gasses. also its 100% installers fault

bhai container par label lagnay sai it does not means the gas inside was also original, it can easily get filled and our local people are experts when it comes to du numberi .. i again say try to contacting the dealer or shop keeper for this

R410 is filled in inverter acs the acson ac you're talking about has r22 refrigerant, it is charged by weight and ambient temperature. if it was leaked you should pull out all and vacuum the unit then add fresh refrigerant by weight.

not 1.5 tones of gas. your ac should take 2kgs, read the sticker on outdoor unit.

He Probably Messed Up And System Develop Leak...Original Gas Leak....Don't Know How Much......Simply Overfill (Which GAs ALLAH Jane) ..How Much (He Don't Know Himself)...He Just Check Gauge And Thats It.....!

Technically If This Doesn't Help......You Are Getting It Checked From Professional....If Its Overfilled...Get It Settled....If Its Too Low...You Need To Get It Out...Vacuum The Whole System...Leak Test It And Then Get Honeywell Refrigerent Yourself...(Get Empty Container...For 100rs..Vacuum It And Get Quantity Filled Exactly As Mentioned On Your Unit...) CHarge It And You Are Done!
