I live in Pindi, in a very small hostel type room and it is nearly impossible to sleep trouble free during hot nights from mid-June to end of September. Now the problem is I can't get 1 ton normal split AC due to many reasons like wiring, electricity consumption and installation cost because I may have to shift the hostel before summer ends.
My room size is just 8 x 7 x 10 = 560/1000 = 0.56 means even 1/2 ton AC should work fine in this small room. But I'm interested in getting 0.75 ton unit and now I'm confused between following choices:

A.
A brand new portable AC with single pipe (like
Tarrington House) cost around 28-30K
(Portable is great for hostel like places BUT they say
efficiency is very poor as compare to split and even window ACs. And T.House portable ac has just ONE exhaust pipe which creates VACUME and doesn?t cool effectively. So some people say K ZIYADA BILL, KUM CHILL

)

B.
New
Window type Mitsubishi AC 3 + star energy rating and (
0.75 T) takes only 4 AMP to start. Cost
26,500 rs
(reliable brand, a good choice BUT I
don?t want to spend more than 20K just for a season or two. Next year I?ll move in new apartment with my family and inshAllah buy the best inverter split ac. Another problem is we have to cut the window to make room for it)

C.
Old Panasonic window AC without remote 0.75 ton cost less than 15K
(works very good , we?ve used them since 1980s and this design never fails plus the price is also affordable. BUT the window cutting problem plus they?re very old, without remote and I don?t know
how much electricity it may consume. (It?s 900W and ideally should not consume more than a kw/h unit in an hour))

D. Japanese Style Window AC 0.75 ton
cost with 110-220V converter is around 18K
(Seems like an IDEAL choice, they say it works very well in smaller room IF you properly install the unit. There?s no need to cut the window and no need to pay for installation. Plus the cost is also under 20K. BUT again there?s a problem. I can only find just ONE shop that too in G-13. He sells Corona newer shape with 110-220V convertor at 18K. And
most disappointing thing is, he said that
YOU CANNOT SET it's TEMP below or beyond 20 C. It runs only on
AUTO mode and keeps the room temp at 20 C. I can't sleep at 20, I feel comfortable
between 25-28 degrees. Plus lower temp means more electricity consumption.)
I have explained almost everything, now I want respectable members to offer advice, share your experience and may ask any question if some info is missing.
And Please let me know the address of any shop selling Japanese style window ac in Rawalpindi/Islamabad (other than G-13 wala shopkeeper)
