1KR-FE 1000cc Vitz 2005 , Engine messed up

Hi I am from Karachi, Car is smoking white and blue from exhaust , on high rpm gives a lot of smoke , I am driving under 60 km/h speed and keeping light foot after this issue , Check light comes on when I go over 70 km/h , average is 9km/L, on scan getting error code P0100 (camshaft position 'A' Actuator Circuit (Bank 1).
Mechanics say this might be worn out piston rings.

Please help me out with suggestions of mechanic who knows and can fix my car. Car was using 5w-50 Castrol , now I changed to 10w-30 Havoline , Installed Original Toyota Spark Plugs , Air and Fuel Filter. Pickup is good every thing seems normal but very bad fuel smell from exhaust and too much smoke , Every one is suggesting for Swap but i don't know any reliable person in Karachi . I am changing my car oil to 20w-50 now and keeping this permanent.

Weak piston rings.
Repairing it from a good mechnic would be a better option. Why swap old rusty and high mileage engine from scrapyard? Remember, kabaar kabaar hi hota hai.
Get it fixed asap otherwise you'll face more problems.

i can recommend you to spare your time @pwuser153830458762 visit Jamil autos at Shahrae Quaideen 0300 9232821 weekdays only 10 am to 7 pm

visit them state your problem and issues ask for compression test. Share what do they recommend. say no to swap ask approx estimate for rebuild.

Engine was rebuilt in Karachi through a very experienced Ustad who had built and over hauled alot of engines including dozens of 1krfe.

Total expense including fluids(kixx 4L cvtf and 4L 5w50 castrol) 33,000 which includes rebuild kit, silicon tube, chains, piston and rings, water pump, petrol, mitti ka tail 8L, cleaners, pcv valve , sandpaper, nuts, boaring( yousaf plaza), labour, service

150km of engine break in , everything is smooth, no vvti light , no knocking , quiet engine. Driving at or below 3000 rpm 0-60km/h

So now you are using 5w-50?
Isn't 5w-20/5w-30 more suitable/recommend for 1kr-fe??

@pwuser153830458762 to avoid next disaster soon for next oil change stick to oil grade 5w-30 1 KRFE is notorious to go bad with any oil other then 5W-30. @rajaatta @syncview @SER_GTR

By books yes , but after consulting with a lot of guys mostly people are recommending 5w-50 toyota taglon

Why 1kr engine is not suitable or considered fail in pakistan? As mostly owners rebuilt or swap vitz engine..
is this due to bad fuel or bad engine oil?
