Just to clarify, this isn't a muscle car in any way. It was very popular and practicle with American families during the baby boom of the 1960's and these station wagons are extremely rare and hard to find in the US now. You'll find mostly convertibles, hardtop coupes and 4 door sedans and hardtops available. I have only seen 2 of these in the last 10 years. They were used very heavily and were worn out and junked after about 10 years, hence there are very few left. There were 2 types of station wagons that Ford made, one was the 6 passenger Country Sedan which was the basic model and the other was this 9 passenger Country Squire which often came fully loaded with simulated wood paneling on the sides.
This car has the optional Thunderbird 390 V8 engine, alongwith Power Steering, Power Brakes, Power Windows, Power Seats, Automatic Transmission, Airconditioner, Heater/Defroster and Radio.
@Portage1: All cars from the 80's down were gas guzzlers save for a few exceptions. Nothing new with that. When you own a classic, that fact is part of the package. If you can't afford the fuel or are looking for economy, don't keep one.
This car is not owned by the present Nawab but by his younger brother.
