That was what I was charged at Suzuki showroom when I went for simple oil and oil filter change. Another thing is, is it true genuine Suzuki OIl filter can only be bought from the show room?

My car is brand new, 10,000 kilometer driven so far. Willing to pick alternative brand for this. Local Wagon R, not JDM.

Yes. Genuine poructs are only available at 3S. Did they change oil and air filter too?

They must have charged you for 10,000 Km service in which they do almost nothing.

Yes, they did change the engine oil and filter but 1500 labor!? Like for real?

I want to get oil and filter changed from outside, how can I get it done cheaply and which engine oil to use?

purchase original products (filters) from 3S and change it from outside mechanics. but remember this will void your car's warranty because suzuki sign on warranty card after every 5000Km service

If you are purchasing oils and filters from 3S, you don't need to go to road side mechanics for oil change.
I take my Corolla and Mehran to 3S and tell them just to change the oil, no 10,000 or 15,000 KM service.
Just for oil change, Suzuki charges you around Rs. 200/- and Toyota charge 250/-
The OP must have availed 10,000 KM service, that is why they charged Rs. 1500/-

at 10,000 K service they charge apprs 2,000 Rs for my swift. they did brake service. tighten some underbody bolts. remaining filters things i have to pay for them

Oil change is quick and free on petrol pumps. I personally like Shell Helix Ultra 5W-30 fully synthetic engine oil. Price is Rs 3,660 for a 4-5 litre can. You'll be surprised how much your engine will love this oil! And oil change is free because the pump keeps your used oil for recycling.

In multan both the 3s dealerships of toyota change oil and oil filter without any labour cost even u don't buy from them

Yes it was at 10,000 KM change. Thanks for letting me know this as I didn't actually go myself for the check up but my driver did. Going to stick with 3S now for oil change because the labor really should be around 200.
