Hi Guys,

Vitz 2009 1000CC,
ODO meter reading 105000,
Catalytic converter removed by first owner.

I have purchased vitz recently After purchased I have changed the Engine oil Toyota Petron Plus 10W30(Mineral oil 3-Liters) and have a long drive trip, cold start picking was great but got weird sound at 100+ speed.

So after 700KM I have changed the engine oil to Toyota Petron 20W50(Mineral oil 3-Liters) + Kixx STP and then getting weird sound on cold start, seems like cold start pick was gone and fuel economy was around 10 in city and 14 to 15 on long drive.

Now I am thinking to switch to 10W40 synthetic or fully synthetic, I have done some homework, list of engine oils I am considering are:

GTX HIGH MILEAGE MOTOR OIL (Semi-Synthetic specifically formulated for vehicles with over 75,000 miles)
MEGUIN Super Performance (Semi-Synthetic)
Shell Helix HX7 (semi-synthetic)
KIXX G1 (Semi-Synthetic)
ZIC X7 (Fully-Synthetic)

I have following two Questions from experts:
A- Which one to pick to get better fuel economy and performance.
B- Vitz mannual suggested 3.1 Liters but different mechanics suggesting different variations from 3 to 3.50 liters, so I need to be sure how much in liters I have to use.

Go for Liqui Moly Fully Synthetic 5w40 .

Drain interval 10,000 KMS.

I am using it for my Swift and engine is very smooth

i have vitz 2011 model n 55-56k on odo meter. i bought this car at 12k driven. i was using zic A+ 10w-40 and on last oil chnge i used meguin syntech primium 10w-40.. and its working prfctly fine. in zic i feel vibration thats why i tried meguin and i feel lesser vibration in it.. i use exact 3 liters in my car you can see your engine oil guage for that how much amount of oil you should put in you car.. you have driven 100k +.. im not expert to tell you which oil you should use.

Correction:
I think you mean ZIC X7 10W-40 (A) instead ZIC X7 FE 5W-20 (A+)

Recommended oil for your vehicle is 5w-30.
If the engine is in good nick & not reducing oil go for 5w-30 or 5w-40.

But on safe side 10w-40 is also ok.
1. 5w-30 will give Best economy & performance.
2. Better to use 3.0 litre then 3.2 or 3.5 bcz overfilling is disaster for engine. Oil capacity of vitz 1000cc is 3.2 litre.
I am also pouring exactly 3.0 litre in my vitz 2003.
Don't use any expensive oils.
shell,total, zic,kixx,meguin & caltex do the job fine.

metallic Rattling sound, like engine, is overloaded something like that,

I have a Honda city 2010 ODO 115000 and I changed the oil to liqui moly somethingW-30 and the engine is completely silent. Without a doubt the best oil in Pakistan. Previously I had 0W-20 ZIC in it and it too lasted about 10k KM and it was a good oil too.

In Pakistan the number with "W" is irrelevant since the temperature in most of Pakistan is quite hot. What should concern you is the reading after the "-". For a 100K + car an oil of 40 viscocity is recommended but since my car's engine is good and fuel economy matters I used 20 and then 30 now. I would definitely recommend liqui moly for you, btw it's an expensive oil.

i think you should first check your car to some mechanic rather then just changing oils by yourself. do check your plugs throttle body injectors etc. one of my friend was in custom cleance. and he told me that many of companies import engine oil they open the bottles and mix some quantity of local oil Gods knows what they are up to. but im satisfied with meguin.

I have Vitz 2009 model registered in 2013. When the car reached Pakistan its odo meter was 66K at that time. We are the first owner since the car is in Pakistan. The odo meter is 126K now. The oil i am using is Mobil Super 2000 (10W-40W). The quantity of oil is 3.2L when changing the oil.
The economy in city drive with a/c is 12-13 km
The Highway drive with a/c is 15.5-16 km (within limits)

Tried 2 to 3 mechanics each came up with different variations to change the assembly bla bla, like pistons have some play, on ecu reset engine becomes smooth at least for one day then weird sounds came back on next day.

Complete BS. Zic has very good oils, if tried 2 3 different versions and no complaints. I got the 0w-20 for 3k and I lasted for 10,000 km so you can see its of good quality. Synthetic oils should be preferred over mineral.

Never take your oil advice from a mechanic, they don't know a single thing about the composition of different oils and what does the figures on different versions of oil mean. Do a Google search and educated yourself. Even when you have other problems with your car first do a Google search and ask on PW rather than relying on the mechanics.

And if you're having problems figuring out how much oil goes in then first out 3.1 L and start the car and check the dip stick. Keep add more until you get the desired level on the dip stick. Never add more than the max level or the oil will start to leak from the seams of engine as it gets warm.

Just switched to Micking 10w40 full synthetic 3.25L from Makki oil change Akbar chowck, cold start pick was back but metallic rattling sound still there that mean something wrong inside head assembly.

First of all, please post a video of the noise you are describing. Sounds from inside the engine only happen when there is internal damage and if that is the case, no oil or additive will fix it and it will only get worse the more you drive it. I would suggest you go to Amjad at Roadrunner behind Tooba Masjid in phase I for a proper diagnosis.

As far as oil brands are concerned, I used Zic extensively at first but I noticed it was prone to sludge buildup. Switched to Liquimoly and promptly lost a big end bearing. Amjad said stay away from that junk as the added moly has a tendency to clog the oil filter and cause low oil pressure. In any case, it is an expensive oil to run, especially if your engine consumes oil. Since then I've been running Castrol GTX. No sludge, no oil leaking through the turbo. I did bump up to 20w50 though since I have a high mileage engine. Otherwise, 10w40 is an excellent choice for our high heat conditions.

A word on synthetics and oil with extended change intervals: you can run the oil 7000, even 10000 km, BUT you MUST change the oil filter at 3000-4000 km, and the air filter at every oil change. We have a lot of airborne dust and dirt in Karachi and that eventually gets through your air filter, and past the piston rings into the oil. This is the number one reason for premature engine wear.
