Which engine oil is better a Helix 10W-40 or Havoline Formula 20W-50 ?
Any one who has experience of using the two.
knock knock!
yes i am here:),, 20/50 grade for hot weather,, and 10/40 for cold,, which is better depends where you live.. (for Lhr in winter both ok,, as it nevers snows here,, but 20 /50 for rest of the year except winter
hello!here in Khi....mostly we all used 20W-50.......but in winters as its damn cold in many places....so 10W-40 or 10W-50 helps you in cold startinging...as its viscosity levels are half than that of 20W-50 when cold.........!so if there is much cold out there...use 10W-40~50 in winters and 20W-50 in normal and in summers.....!Thanxx
Hello!forget to mention one thing....its better to use Caltex Oil than that of Shell ones.....or ZIC ......Shell Lubricants as i listen are worst now....so i prefer Caltex Havoline.....!if car was on CNG use Havoline CNG type...Thanxx
caltex is a better brand bhai and next is zic. use 10w-40 in winter and you will be fine
@SER_GTR
What is special in Havoline CNG for the engine ?
Internationally I havnt seen any separate CNG/LPG oil...
Hello!well Caltex Havoline was know to be the best from many years.......Caltex Havoline CNG type is added with some more addictives for CNG use....like it burns hotter and have dry type effect.....so more heat resisting is the one quality of this type..also its anti-wear feature prevents engine wear while running on gas type fuels....! also helps not to build excessive waste deposits inside engine......!these are some feautures........Havoline LPG/CNG Oil was also sell out in other parts of world...see the link..http://www.caltex.com.au/products_oil_detail.asp?id=275
Thanxx
bundle of thanks!
but one question why is the CNG oil cheaper ?
use 5w-50 and ur fine for islamabad karachi lahore
pshonda pakistan uses 20w-40 in winter aswell which is not good
Hello!@haceeb...CNG oil is chaper...:S...damn Caltex Havoline CNG cost me 780Rs for 4 Ltr Pack....you said its cheap :S......Shell and PSO ones cost cheaper......but quality is not upto mark..Thanxx
In winters I would use 10w-30 rather then 10-40 or 20-50. Any one brand would do just makesure they are original.
Here 5w-30 is standared by most auto manuf.
Havoline CNG=Rs.780Havoline Formula=Rs.1060Both are 4 litres.
@toofast
Which one is preferred in US?... Shell or Caltex ?
NoneHere. Mobile one, Vavoline. quaker state and Penzoil are leading brands.
@toofastStick to it for winters and change during summers.
Well,
I have used both in patrol engine, By rating goes to shell more suitable and durable for my car.Exactly it gives you around 6700 km (shell synthetic)5600 km ( havoline) If you wish to buy a cheap oil go for honda oil it costs you 740/- only bu the grade is 10W-40W which maynt be suitable for your car. Consult your cars manual before using or changing the oil.the minimum 10W-40W is for winter or cold enviroment, whereas the other one is for hot. as i have used both of them i only recommend 10 W-40W , my car is 18 yrs old suzuki swift w/o CNG. and it gives best performance over the singapore packed Shell over havoline.the choice is yours..To use cheap oil reduces the life of your car. keep this in your mind.if you still wish to spend more money try and ask shell dealer to provide you fully synthetic oil it will last upto 10,000kms.
@Racer U mean by 5-30?? What you say in summer use 10-40?
Yep, that is right!
Hello!well i think there comes two...one named as Havoline Motor Oilone as Havoline Formulathe Havoline Motor Oil is the one who'z i think cheaper than CNG one...Havoline Formula....well i don't know but its different.....must be changed from other....!i only used Havoline CNG......never used these two...but thats for sure...Caltex offers best which they asked for...!Thanxxx
