For a year or so my Passo 2005 had this small problem of slight delay in moving when shifted to D or R, and recently one fine day it started acting weirdly. It was moving in D when suddenly it "went out of gear" and seemed to be in N, and refused to move forward. I somehow drove it to the mechanic with great difficulty, ustaad g wasted no time in declaring transmission dead and suggesting to replace it with a kabli one. No other option. I agreed and the transmission was replaced. After that, the car had no problems. But after a week or two, and driving it for about 100km, gears started slipping, and at times, it appeared I was moving in neutral. I stopped at roadside to check what was wrong. Everything seemed normal(gear oil etc). I tried to reverse the car and it refused to budge! In forward, it moves but gears are delayed, and it seems the car shifts from 1st to 3rd with a big jerk. And when I try move at more than 60-70, it goes to neutral (while in D).
Can anyone tell me what's wrong? When I disconnected the speed sensor on the gearbox, the slippage disappears, but the delayed gear shifts are there. What can be the reason? Is it electronics or mechanical? The car moves okay in higher gears with the speed sensor disconnected but won't reverse at all. Please help.
