I wonder when will Pk folks get out of the "foxy mein pitrol bharna" mentality.
topping up to the brim on a modern car with an evap control system for the fuel tank is a guaranteed and sure fire way to have a fuel filled charcoal canister which then causes the system to go nuts, turn on the check lamp and the car has charcoal granules in the evap lines which end up in the inlet manifold too.
Funny enough - the whole of middle east living desi folks do it too, US too but they only do it once, because when they get to see and pay the repair bill of their "shandaar nawee gadee" due to their bullheaded stupidity they remember that fault forever and never do it again. (usual bill ends up in the 1 to 3 thousands on a newish car)
the fuel station pump dispenser nozzles are quite high tech items, and will shut off when the fuel sloshes back while filling. The automatic click off is what one should be doing, it fills it to the required level. The car manufacturer literally spent money on the design of the tank and fill tube to accomodate the auto shut off, trying to outsmart it because "dada foxy ki diggi mein aise pitrol bhartay thay - jaada aata thaa" results in stepping over dollars to pick up pennies. I welcome such idiots, its good business for us, like clockwork 99% of such cars coming in for repairs are owned by Pk/Ind/Bdesh people. the other 1% are the folks who encountered a bad fill nozzle which overflowed (very rare though)
